So my nephew was recently put on insulin. He is 19, healthy, and far from overweight. He is pretty upset by this. So this year we are doing a diabetic friendly Thanksgiving. My wife wants me to cook a second dinner for when we come back from her mom's so we can eat fat, sugar, and carbs 😂 girl bye 🙄

Half my in-laws are vegan. We're bringing back up food just incase 🙄. Thank God I'm still really sick and can play the "my stomach is just off" game until we go out for early black friday 😂

Needing insulin doesn't always mean the person is overweight or unhealthy.
But he can't eat any carbs or sugar at all? My sister just adjusts her dose depending on what she'll be eating.

I guess it does take a while to get used to it all, though. Insulin sucks. My sister diabetes was diagnosed two weeks before Halloween, when she was 7.
