Just curious but can you breastfeed and bottle feed? Or is it one or the other situation? Xx Wanting And hoping I will be able to breastfeed this time around! X
@kate_smith Yeah and i don't know hun! They told me sometimes it is safer to bring them earlier! Sometimes there is more risk leaving them in at times! Aww bless! My First was born at 39 weeks + 3 days via emergency section and she was 5lbs 14oz xx
@kerrydavidson6 really? Why would they want to donate c section early if he is small? Mine is a bit small as well, the length is average, but very thin :(
@kate_smith Aww I can see what you mean now. And it does sound like that would come in handy! Aww I love that month 🙈 And I'm due on the 19th Dec but my baby is small and could be coming in 2 or 3 weeks via planned c section xx
@kerrydavidson6 I've planned it with my daughter as well, but turned out I had too much milk if anything, but always had a tin of formula and bottles in the house. I think the second time round will be harder though, will probably be forced to put the little one on some sort of a routine straight away to keep everyone sane - an occasional formula fed by oh would be super handy for that!
I'm due on 3rd of march, how about you? Xx
@kate_smith Aww well nice that its not just me planning to do this! Xx When you due?
@melaniespiritualist Aww bless! And I'm planning on breastfeeding in day and night, it's just in case xx
@kerrydavidson6 I've got the same plan :)
@kate_smith I'm going to try breastfeed him as much as possible it's just in case a bottle needs to come in handy xx
I could only breastfeed my daughter for a couple of days, she was born small and couldn't suck so was fed formula through a syringe even in hospital. My son was also born small and although he was able to suck he needed more than my breastmilk was giving him so I did combined feeding. I found it easier to bottle feed of a day when people are visiting they like to feed the baby for you lol. It I breastfed all night feeds xx
You can do both :) just need to breastfeed enough not to lose milk, I would wait till your milk comes in 3-5th day until you introduce the bottle if you can
@kayteamay, definitely. Even more annoying when they’re going by a book!! Xx
I had to combine with my son as he was 11lb and my breasts weren’t producing enough to satisfy him so at 1month we introduced a bed time bottle which helped him to sleep through on a full tummy.. then we used formula bottles for when out and about shopping and stuff and slowly he came off the breast at his own accord at 4months xxx
@jo.wilcox im so happy by health visitor agrees with combine feeding. I think its so unfair to tell mothers they are wrong.
Ive combined fed all my babies. More breast during the day and a formula bottle in the evening or if we were going somewhere i didnt feel comfortable breastfeeding at
I am combine feeding. Formula in Bottle and breast both. And he is going good xx
@jo.wilcox Thank you hun that's what I'm planning on doing! Got some formula bottles+teats starter pack just in case I can't like last time xx
@lsmith173 Sorry hun I meant as in half breastfeed and then formula bottle feeding! Defiantly going to get a breast pump though too, Thank you xx
Midwives and health visitors will basically say you’re wrong to do both but don’t listen. It’s personal choice, Charlie breastfed and I expressed into bottles, do what feels right and works out best for you x
Mommas who breastfeed.. Do you pump as well or strictly breastfeed??
Who breastfeeds at midnights
How long do you breastfeed for?
how many mommy are not going to breastfeed or not breastfeeding?
Is it possible to not breastfeed at all?
I didn't know that! That's not a bad weight, still within the normal limits :)
My first one was a beast, she was born at 40.5 and weighted 8.8lb!!! That was a difficult labour... When my waters broke they were not clear either, so she was probably ready to come out earlier, but my body didn't register it
