@alyssa_hoffmaster, as far as I can remember it took about 4 weeks for it to subside. They gave me Motrin 600 and Percocet bc I wasn't breastfeeding. It took the stitches 6 weeks to desolve away.

@mamabear3x, how long does it take for the pain to get better? It’s been a week and I still feel like knives are stabbing me down there

Everyone else pretty much took the words out my mouth lol, my first tore me in three different places and I was stitched up. Not fun at all!

Make sure the witch hazel is alcohol free! It will burn really bad if there is alcohol in it

Bring your peri bottle in the shower with you and squirt water down there to clean yourself it’s hard to clean yourself for a month or so but it should heal very fast I only tore a little bit but all of the things I mentioned helped make recovery easier

Use witch hazel pads, clean yourself everytime you use the bathroom. Try padsicles put witch hazel and aloe Vera on a pad and put them in the freezer the cold really helps with the pain

I only had a 1st degree tear but girl use those icepacks, they are a godsend and use a little squirt bottle, fill it with warm water and spray yourself down there especially near the tear. And there's this stuff called Dermoplast. Its a spray that relieves pain and burning. (Im not sure if the hospital gave that to you or not but you can buy it)
