Need advice on two things 1 how to get my one year old to not be afraid of the potty seat and 2 to get her to start walking like she will stand up in the middle of the floor by herself without holding on to anything but she won't walk so if you laddies could help I would be thankful
@angelao777 well hopefully once she starts walking she will be ready to potty train and thank you for the advice
@eaj8290 I have been having her come to the bathroom with me when I use the bathroom most of the time she plays with the tub or the big toilet or plays with the lid on her little potty seat I guess I will take a break on potty training and try to get her walking
@stellamadigan81 It will :) My oldest who walked at 14m potty trained himself at 21m. He went in the bathroom one day I thought for a toy that rolled in there came out and said mommy pee pee in the potty. I went in there and sure enough he peed in and all over the potty. Kicker was I never taught him, he just went and did it himself. I won't planning to even attempt potty training till 2, but he kick started the process. My stepsons mom pushed potty training so he was in diapers till almost 4 which kept him stuck in the 2s class in daycare.
@abelsmama16 lol I'm constanly trying to get her to walk but she just likes to be held to much
@eaj8290 yea it's a small potty seat that she sits on and has a potty pan you change out under it
@stellamadigan81, my cousins baby boy was the same way he just would NOT walk you could tell that he could he just wanted to be held or he would crawl . He was almost two before he just took off one day then he stopped for a few days would cry if you tried to make him then he hasn’t stopped since... I think they are either lazy or hard headed lol
@angelao777 thank you I will try the walking first then see if potty training comes after
@mrsgoulding I wanna work on walking first which I think she can do but either won't because everyone but me keeps holding her when I try to reach her or when she is throwing a fit they hold her
If you introduce the potty before she's ready it will take longer to train her. Especially if she seems afraid. She's gotta feel confident and show interest or it will be a long process that will have you both pulling your hair out. Unfortunately not all kids work on the same schedule in all areas. Walking comes, I've watched kids as early as 8 months walk. My youngest did at 10 months but my oldest was 14 months old. The best way to encourage walking I found is sit her between herself and someone else she loves and try to get her to go small distances like touch feet with the person across from you and help her go back and forth and praise her each time she gets to someone. As she tries on her own continue it with praise distancing yourself further as she goes. I find that way works best, I've helped get over 20 kids to walking (I run a daycare). I'd drive parents crazy because I would get their kids walking before they were ready for them to 😂
@eaj8290 yea we got her a potty seat and she plays with she will close and shut the lid several times and she is in pull ups mainly because we have tried ever brand of diapers and they make her break out And that didn't start happening until she it 11 months
@derricksmama her dr said it was okay to start potty training her and I have tried that but she don't wanna walk I even tried holding on to her hands and walking her through the house and she just sits on the floor and Cry's
Wanna thank all you wonderful ladies for the advice I will try to get her walking first before potty training and see if after I get her walking she wants to potty train
