It’s your choice first and foremost. Me personally would not have the baby because of the risk of baby having it and short lived. On top of that you have no support. But do your own research and find out what’s best for you.

There's a chance you could pass it to the baby... It's not a death sentence plenty of people live with hiv but it's hard and expensive many cannot afford the medicine

If you take the proper medication there's a big chance your child will not get it. You're also 20 weeks, which means an abortion isn't really in the question. You should question the guys, if someone knowingly gave it to you they can go to jail for a long time, it's illegal to knowingly give you hiv. Maybe talk to a different doctor and see if that eases your mind.

@moonxoxo find a new dr ...Takecare of yourself .your 20 wks along not judging anyone but.in 20 weeks didn't you know you were pregnant ..they usually run blood work very early in in every pregnancy..

@moonxoxo, sweetheart you answered your own question above when u said "I really want this baby" that's the mother in you I say get on your knees pray for your health and baby's health and if u believe and have faith god will make it happen it's god will for your life not yours so remember there is a reason your in the place your in right now your life has a purpose and so does that sweet baby's life u just don't k ow what that purpose is yet. As for a support system well sounds like you need to find a loving group of people to help you along mom.life is a good place to start with advise and questions but a local group as well. Just because u have HIV does not mean the baby will have it. My friend is also HIV positive and she has a completely healthy little boy.

@moonxoxo meaning Even if a person doesn't sleep around or just with 1 person You never know 100%what the other person is doing..nothing personal we are all adults not trying to offend you at all..sadly when anyone has sex unless people are regular ly tested for all things always chances go up for anything

Definitely find a new doctor, you should never be judged. Your doctor should be someone you can turn to in difficult times like this. It’s your decision hun.

@moonxoxo um me personally I would keep my baby! Just the fact of he or she might not catch it. There are chances but don't think negative u got this... People live a longggggggggg time with hiv even without medicine... It just depends on your body or how it takes it..

I've heard they have medicine where it doesn't pass to your baby!

Talk to your doctor's, do research, ask questions. An old coworker of mine has HIV, and she did not pass it to her daughter. I'm not sure how she managed it, but I think there are things you can do to prevent it passing. Medicine has come a long way since HIV was first an issue.
