They always say when you breast feed you'll love it and hate it but as soon as you stop you'll miss it. I stopped breastfeeding my daughter when I was about 8 weeks pregnant with my son due in march. Now I'm just so excited to nurse again.

@kaytibug2009 you still get colostrum but if you continue to breastfeed there will be milk too.

@maxx @elenalee thank you. I never thought about it that way. So does this mean you will get colostrum back in your breasts for the new Baby? Or will it still be milk?

@kaytibug2009 well when I weaned my daughter it wasn't just because I was pregnant. I had really just been putting it off for a while. She was only night nursing at the time and the only reason I let that go on for so long is simply procrastination. It was easier to get her to sleep by nursing. But also I don't think tandum feeding is easy at all let alone easier. Knowing I was pregnant helped me put off the procrastination because I thought the sooner I do it before this baby is born the longer time frame my daughter has to forget or at least get used to it. Not to mention nursing while pregnant can become very painful due to pregnancy hormones.

@kaytibug2009, I bf both my boys halfway through my pregnancies and then weaned them. I wanted to wean them with enough time for them to not miss it before the baby got there. They seem to forget pretty quickly and move on to more independent things. Breastfeeding a newborn is such a full time job, I wasn’t sure I could handle nursing my toddler and the new baby, plus, honestly I wanted my body back for a short time before I started all over again, even as much as I love breastfeeding. Also, breastfeeding during pregnancy is uncomfortable... nipples are so much more tender, it became really irritating.

Can I ask why? I've heard of a lot of parents stopping breastfeeding the first child when they are about to have another and I was wanting to know why? Wouldn't it be better to tandom feed? Also wouldn't the first child get mad and jealous of the next child when they (1st baby) can't get the milk while watching the other (2nd baby) get the milk? Please don't take this as me trying to be mean or anything. I just really want to know since I don't have anyone around who has had kids so close together and I would really like to know.
