Do ya’ll feel comfortable telling me what you pay for health insurance per pay period? I’m trying to figure out if what I am paying is reasonable or not!
We are paying $380 per pay period
We have a 20% co-pay, so they pay 80% of all in-network bills
A $1200 family deductible
Our out-of-pocket MAX is $3500, which I guess will come in handy with our hospital bills coming up in February!
I want to hear opinions!
It seemed from all of our choices, we were paying either low per pay period costs, with crazy deductibles, or low deductibles with high per pay period costs 🙄😡

@aboutellesbabes, you are welcome! It’s nice that with the HSA, we can use pretax money to pay the medical bills... so it’s like getting 15-20% extra to pay with

@dreamermom, okay so that makes me feel better! We kinda sacrificed paying for monthly to get the $1200 deductible, since my SO’s doctor and prescription is extremely expensive, we just couldn’t do a high deductible! But shit after this year he won’t need it anymore and then we can get a plan that looks more like yours! Thank you so much!

I think we pay $280 ($560/mo) we have a high deductible... so we have to pay 100% until we reach 6K, then 80/20 until we reach $12k, then they pay 100% up to 1 million... and the last 3 years we have hit our deductible! With my first pregnancy she came at 33w2d, just her hospital bill was over $160k... mine was somewhere around $50K... so we were quite thankful to not be on the hook for 20% of that... the second year, my husband had MRSA and needed to see a ton of specialists... so he burned through the 12k... and we just recently had another high risk pregnancy and that one was close to $60k... so with the crazy couple of years it has been totally worth it! Fingers crossed this next year we won’t use it much!

@morgan.k, trust me I have NO IDEA! haha @halifax6, yea after this year he won’t need the medication anymore, which will make a HUGE difference! unfortunately, Kaiser doesn’t cover his doctor’s office or the medication :/ and it’s a very expensive medication 🙄 pretty much only Cigna and United health covered what we needed them to cover!

@aboutellesbabes does Kaiser not offer it ? So far, I've paid nothing out of pocket for this baby.

@aboutellesbabes I hate how for an individual it's 59 a check yet to add just my husband Jack's it up to 208! 149 for just my husband is lame.

@halifax6, I really wanted to go with Kaiser, they were definitely the best price-wise! My SO unfortunately needs a medication that isn’t covered by a lot of companies, which limited our choices severely :(

I think for a family of four it would be $400 a pay period. Maybe a month?? I’m not sure. I know my deductibles suck tho. Max is $6k.

@aboutellesbabes it's rough. I couldn't really afford having him on my plan, too. Who are you going through?

For next year, I will be paying 59.46 per pay check and 118.98 per month. I will add my child in Feb, and that will make it 160 per check and 320 per month. I have the zero deductible, max out of pocket 1500/3000 20 dollar copay for primary. With Kaiser. However to add my husband makes it 586 per paycheck and that's out of the question!

@scurlock.mommy, sorry if it seems like I’m prying, it’s just our last day to sign up. I want to make sure we are doing the right thing for the fam :)

@scurlock.mommy, So $60X4(my family) would be $240, I know that’s not how it works I’m just thinking in terms of 4 individuals paying for insurance. So that is less than what we are paying for our whole family! What do your co-pays look like? Are they 20/80, as well?
