Anyone have any tips for reliving teething pain? I’ve tried oral gel (I got the nighttime formula that’s supposed to be extra strength and last longer), I alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen throughout the night, she wears an Amber Teething necklace, cold/cool rags to chew on and I even got the home remedy/old wives tale “Egg in the Sock” my aunts, mom and cousins swear by. Elena still wakes up screaming about her mouth, the way she acts it’s as if the pacifier and bottle irritate her gums where the tooth is breaking through and they are inflamed, she screams when I apply the oral gel. And this only happens at night she’s not Whitney or irritable at all during the day it starts at about 1am and last up until 5-6am. A constant battle of her tensing up, fighting me, crying out and squealing. I think the only reason she settles down is because she’s exhausted, I know I am. This has been going on since her first tooth has came through in March and getting progressively worse. My brain is fried at this point, I need help 😭#teethingtroubles
@_naturalnurtuter_ no we didn't. She has frozen teether toys that she will chew on.
@mississippi.mama, wooow that really worked for my kids. I’m sorry little one. Have you tried cold cooked chicken bone. That also helped my babies
@_naturalnurtuter_ we tried rum also, the relief only lasted a brief 5 minutes and she was in pain again.
My family and my BD family are African and Caribbean we used rum. Dipped a cotton ball in it and rub it on the affected area. The baby doesn’t swallow anything but the relief they feel is definitely present on their face and in their sleep.
@mississippi.mama, my oldest had it rough too but the Amber necklace seemed to help. It doesn't seem like it does much for Elena though, she has a scheduled checkup tomorrow, I'm going to ask if there is something else I can try. I'm happy she's resting now.
@mississippi.mama, we sleep in the recliner too but she worms back and forth the whole time. I end sitting straight up with her sitting laying her head on my chest.
When babies lay, the pressure of the teeth coming through increases and is very uncomfortable.. we spent quite a few nights sleeping in the recliner, propped up, so the pain wasn't as bad. We did the ibuprophen and tylonal alternation also. Teething is tough. We are working on more now, too. These ones are stubborn
