They need to be seen within 48 hours of release from hospital

I was told to call up to 48 hours after baby was born! Pediatricians have open appointments just for things like this! They wont be full :)

I was seen 2 days after discharge. I I called while still in the hospital to make the appointment but I called them at 34 weeks to see if they took new patients.

For me they do it at the hospital before I left

I work at a family practice office. We usually tell parents that they bring there baby in for a baby weight check within the first week. And schedule the babies follow up appointment at 2 weeks. Most offices try to squeeze in a new born baby. Not sure how it is by you. You could call around and find out what office policies are for that. If you have a specific doctor in mind give the office a call when things settle down in the hospital or the day you get home. Of course you can schedule earlier than two weeks if you feel it’s needed!

I’m just afraid that everyone will be full and not accepting patients 😫
