Well...I’m offended. 😅 So I’m in a PPD support group on Facebook, and a lady was talking about her symptoms and how no medicine was working for her.
Now, I have bipolar II, also known as manic depression. I didn’t know that until about a year ago when I was in the same situation as her. I went through my whole spiel about my struggle and symptoms and how I had nothing help until I was diasgnosed as such and received treatment and meds for it on top of my anxiety and depression.
She basically said she wouldn’t be able to handle hearing that she’s bipolar and that I’m “so strong” for being able to. 🙃 Like...it’s nothing I can help. That’s just me. How my brain works.
It’s just cycles of depressive and manic episodes. It’s periods of depression, and periods of feeling on top of the world. It’s exhaustion. It’s pent up anger. But it’s not the end of the world.
I don’t know. I guess it just irritated me bc people hear bipolar and automatically think CRAZY. I’m not crazy. I’m not happy one minute and a raging bitch the next. My brain is just wired differently. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

A lot of people don't understand because they are either misinformed or have no knowledge about it whatsoever.

Yeah, I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I felt like people totally associated or would associate the word crazy with me lol.

People aren’t educated on the topic so they think it’s something else. Don’t you just love when people think they KNOW more than you but you’re the living proof of the situation. 🙄

My mom has said but you don’t constantly change your mind. Lmao I think it’s just something people are very uneducated about. “Of course depression or anxiety are normal but any other mental illness is bat shit crazy”. I actually thought I was crazy for a bit lol but it’s an illness just like diabetes or cancer.
