I heard that if you give your child a certain amount of solids for example 4 ounces of solids than you only give them the remaining amount of ounces of formula of what you usually give them of formula. For example I give my daughter 6 ounces of formula usually and she just ate 4 ounces of food. So I should just give her 2 ounces of formula now? Idk if I’m making sense lol is this true? 😅

@moonslugg when you start solids she'll become more full. She still needs all that formula to be hydrated and get nutrients. My son 9 months old and since about 2 months ago i noticed a decrease in how many bottles he would have throughout the day. He uses to drink 8 now he only has about 4 or 5 bottles SOME times 6 just depending on how his day went. For the most part he only has 4 to 5 bottles now plus food. He is 9 months old and does eat a full jar of food now some times 2 so idk. Don't not give her a full bottle after food maybe just give her 20 or 30 minutes to let it digest before giving her a bottle.

@theinkedmommy, thank you ! That’s what I thought as well. I overheard another mom saying that, so I wanted to make sure if that was true. So thank you for answering 😊

So, my pediatrician told us not to do that when my son was that age. When they're just staring solids it's for them to get used to eating things that aren't formula/breast milk, not to supplement nutrients. So you wouldn't want to pull or reduce any of their formula, because the small amount of solids they take in won't really add much nutritional value.

But, I'm not a doctor or anything, that's just what we were told. I'd check with your pediatrician if you're unsure. Hope that helps!
