So I tell my mom things aren't working here... we've been here 5 months too get on our feet and we're not allowed to use the address to apply anywhere or get our licenses to get anywhere, we're not allowed to have a house key, and she literally has taken control of everything with my son. My parents also turned of the wifi on us for not doing the dishes one day, meanwhile any other time it's done. In order for it to get turned back on was a huge argument. (I know wifi might not seem like a big deal but our phones are off and we were trying to find local jobs nearby) It's just been constant arguing, constant pettiness, and no moving forward. And constant finger blaming for everything such as the bills going up meanwhile we've been starving ourselves because we won't touch the food they buy unless it's offered, i haven't even really been able to take care of myself because I'm afraid to take a shower or use the bathroom without being blamed for the bills going up.
We have family in New York who wants to help us get into a shelter program she went through that helped get her and many of my husbands family on their feet. They help you find jobs, apartments, apply for insurance everything. I think any logical parent who wants to give their child everything they can would take that option to get help... but no I'm a shitty daughter and shitty mother and I'm taking their grandchild away for trying to do what's right for my family. 🙄

It sounds like you just need to take back your control. Your mother will eventually get over it and even if she doesn't, you need to have control of your life. You'll lose yourself and that's dangerous. Try not to fall into the drama she is stirring up, my uncle used to do it just to make people feel guilty.
I wish I was better help, but all I know is you've got to save yourself and your own little family. Don't let someone else, no matter who they are, bring you down and destroy your life like that.
@damiensmommy1117, I'm trying to but my mom has a way of making everything about her. I tried to talk to her about it tonight and I told her I need her to understand I was coming to her mother to mother. And I tried explaining to her that I need to do what's right for my family and my son. But she started yelling and then crying and just made me feel like complete shit. Like this whole situation has almost destroyed my marriage and myself. I've become such a depressed anxious wreck. I don't even feel like I'm the mother of my son anymore.
