Can someone please outline for me the benefits of being legally married ? Because i'm really having a hard time seeing any
I'm engaged, but we chose not to get married until after the baby gets here so I can use Medicaid and other benefits from the state. The old ladies can judge all they want lol
@beebaby i just looked, it does pay out to dependent children so maybe i revisit the topic in 26 years. lol
@beebaby good question, i'll have to look into it
@beebaby i'm already beneficiary on his life insurance policies. i do know that i wouldnt get the social security survivors benefits for widows though so thats one
You wont get anything for you or your children if something happens to him.
@angylynn22 you would file joint taxes. We get a tax break for certain things pertaining to our business and such. Doesnt go for everyone. Just my personal experience.
@therurallady yea i bet i've heard a lot of ppl say theyll never get legally married again just because of the hell that the divorce was
@angylynn22 then you're golden. I went through a divorce 5 years ago and I still have nightmares about it.
@therurallady coincidentally we already have the same last name. lol
@beebaby i carry my own insurance, already have same last name, and my job has better benefits....tell me about the tax break ?
You know, I can't think of a single one.... Maybe that old ladies don't give you side-eye for having a different last name than your kids?? 😂
Other than insurance, last name and his job benefits and a slight tax break, their is no huge difference.
@beebaby @angylynn22 yes you do get part of their reretirement. That is if they pass.. I believe
