My fetal doppler just came in the mail. I just used it now and I could hear the whooshing of the placenta and what I ate and drank prior, but not the heartbeat. I kept passing over it. Any tips? Is it better to listen to it with an empty stomach or full? I could hear the heartbeat for like one second.

-Thanks

I was actually researching it the other day and a lot of women said they tried with a full bladder and couldn't hear it so they emptied their bladder and then found it! So definitely try both! Here's the site with all of the opinions :)

@karinecastrejon, lol yeah it's usually to the left of my belly button. Which is where I was but I think the problem is that I moved from that area too quickly.

Do you remember where your ob usually puts it at when they check at your visits? I don't have the Doppler at home but if I did I'd put it where she normally does every time I go. Which is to my right of my belly button lol
