I have a question is there a group for people with herpes on here if not willing to make one

@auge93 I was told by a friend of mine that her Dr said she could be put on something throughout her entire pregnancy if she had constant outbreaks. they told her that she HAD to take something in the last few months no matter what even though she hasn't had any outbreaks in years because obviously that wouldnt be a pleasent thing to have while giving birth on top of the dangers to the baby. so I don't understand why your Dr. Would just make you suffer like that when there's most definitly things that can be taken. I'd go somewhere else and ask cuz something isn't right there.

@auge93 my OB prescribed me valtrox. I have to now take it twice a day before i give birth so it doesn't get to the baby when I push her out in case of an outbreak.

I worked for a Dr's office and I know you can still be treated with antiviral meds like acyclovir, oral and topical. Did your OB say you can't be treated? If you have a PCP I'd go to them and get a 2nd opinion. Some OB dr's don't want you taking anything even if it is safe.

I have read you can that apple cider vinegar can help it heal faster. When your not pregnant EO diluted can help like mellisa and frankincense and peppermint for burning. Mellisa is pricy but it's made from lemon balm the herb. It is one of the most effective herbs for treatment I have read about and you can infuse it with a carrier to use.

Ask them about acyclovir. My friend said that's what they prescribed her

@tayler no they won't treat it , they said to keep stress down and soak thats it ,

From what I know from my friend they still prescribed her antibiotics for when she was pregnant and had an outbreak down there that was ok to take. And a few weeks before her due date they prescribed some again to take 3x a day to suppress it and make sure she didn't get an outbreak by time of delivery to not affect baby. Baby was fine 😊

That sucks I am sorry :/ I would just ask a doctor what you can do to help with the pain till after your little one is born.

My friend has herpes as well and she had a couple out breaks during her pregnancy. When she isn't pregnant she rarely ever has an outbreak. I remember her telling me she puts some kind of over the counter cream on it. Did your doctor recommend anything?
