Okay Mamas, I am still new to this Mom thing lol so I don't really know the difference between Soy formula and Pro Sensitive. My son was on Similac Pro Sensitive for 4 months and did good on it until he started getting gassy and stuff. The doctor said my only other step since he was already on Sensitive was to go to Soy. So then I put him on Gerber Soy. Ever since he has been on the Soy he doesn't take his bottles as good, I guess maybe it tastes bad or different? Anyways he is still really gassy even on the Soy. I am considering switching back to the Pro Sensitive but I hate switching formulas because it can mess with his already gassy tummy. What is the difference between Soy and the Pro Sensitive? Opinions on switching back? I'm kind of stuck as to what to do for my little man. Any ideas?
@ecahanes, he told me when we switched to Soy that if it didn't work all that was left was that super expensive special stuff
@ecahanes, he has had a lot of trouble pooping on Soy. I have to put karo syrup in bottles, which I always have to keep him regular and his doctor knows about this but it is worse with Soy. I think he seems just as gassy. He's been on Soy for somewhere between 2-3 months
So I think prosensitive has low lactose. Turns out my son just has a lactose issue . How is his poop?
@ecahanes, he did regular formula for like 2 weeks, then that didn't seem to be doing his tummy good so the doc said I could switch to pro Sensitive. He was on that for 4 months and then just started fussing acting like it hurt him to digest his milk almost. So then we got the okay to switch to Soy.
So I would go back because at this point nothing will help really with the gassyness
I would stay with the pro cause it doesn't sound like a milk allergy- to me at least (my daughter has milk allergy) and have you tried gas drops? Gripe water?
