I was wondering if anyone else had gone through this and can help. My son is breastfed and drinks breast milk from a bottle when I'm at work... lately he is not interested in nursing and is decreasing his bottle intake. I'm kind of worried about it, because his actual meals are not that big and I know he wants milk because of how he's acting. He will be a year old in about 2-3 weeks and we will most likely stop our breast feeding journey then.... but in the meantime how can I get him to nurse? I've tried the dark room with no distractions and that only works about 50% of the time. Thanks in advance! 😃

Oy, thank you @mandi.marie, @aboutellesbabes, @arivera64!!! I will continue to give the feeds I can and just try to give him milk through his bottle or cup.

Definitely self-weaning, just give him more baby food when he turns down nursing or the bottle.

He's probably self weaning. Not much you can do to force him unfortunately.

This happened to my mother. Some babies just know when they want to stop. She said that she just had to up our food intake so that we weren't hungry and let us ween ourselves! We were even younger though. Around 9 months!
