The father on the certificate mean nothing...the real father is the one who care and give love ...

He deserves to be put on the birth certificate not for him but for your baby. They deserve to know who their dad is. Xx

I don't think he Shud b on it if he does jack shit for his child and if he's not on it it's less hassle for u coz wen he is on birth certificate he has parental responsibility and he can jus take ur child if u split up and police cud not do anything about it x

I think dad should be on birth certificate too, when baby grows up, they have a right to know who their biological parents are. If either mum/dad doesn't play a role in their life then the child would know anyway, but they still have a right to have the parents on that certificate x

I agree with everyone. A birth certificate isn't reserved for who plays dad best, it's there to have both biological parents on regardless of if they step up on there roles as a parent. No dad should be refused his name on a birth certificate based on their behaviour. He's the babies dad so he goes on the birth certificate. No matter where you come from that baby should have both parents on the birth certificate. And no one can force you to stay with him especially when there's a baby on the scene, to me when there's a baby involved if he's that bad he shouldn't be around doesn't seem to complicated but he should be on birth certificate

If it's that complicated & your family would make you stay with someone like that then I'm guessing they would also force you to have him on the birth certificate. If you have the will to not put him on it, have the will to leave him.

@lucyspear., it is really complicated where I come from no matter what if a guy gets you pregnant from my country your stuck in. That and the families from both sides come together and try to make it work
