Hey mama's,

I have a question, any of you ladies had a c-section at 36 weeks? If so how big was the baby? Was the baby able to go home with you?

@deemamibear Yeah me too but it's so quick. I wish someone who went through it would have explained to me more before it happened but everyone I knew at the time had a c-section 24+ years ago lol

The shots they give to you while you're there and then like the last day they show you how to do it yourself and have you do it infront of them. They don't hurt though, my bf was excited that he got to stab me 😂

@arcsmomma, wow it only took 15 min I thought it would've taken longer. Thank you made me feel better about having a c-section. I never heard about the shots that are given in the belly good to know.

@deemamibear she's my first child as well. Wasn't a planned c-section either, my water just broke early (honest think its because I was stressing A LOT over something the night it broke) and she was still breech. It was super hard leaving her there but you're allowed to be be at the nicu after you leave as much as you want (besides shift changes) you could literally stay there all day and they can't tell you to leave or anything. I had a dream the first night home without her that she was there and when I home up I just started crying. The c-section itself was super easy. Once they have your prepped and ready it happens fast. They had me get on the bed, gave me a spinal block and had me lay down, within like a minute or two I couldn't feel from under my boobs and down, they bring your SO into the room if they are going to be in there and they sit right next to your head (you'll have a sheet blocking your view from anything under your neck) and then they start. It took about 15 mins to get baby out and be stitched back up. You can feel the pressure of what they're doing but absolutely no pain. I had dissolvable staples put in instead of stitches (didn't even know those existed until now lol). She was born at 4:36am Sunday morning and I was up and walking around on Monday. The more you move around the easier it will be for you to heal (that's what they told me). I even stopped asking for pain meds after like 2 days, they actually made me keep taking them more of a precaution for them I'm sure. You'll probably have to get shots in the belly, they don't hurt at all, to help prevent blood clots and I had to take 2 weeks worth home with me that you give to yourself.

@arcsmomma, awww I hope I don't have to leave her I'm so scared of that. I know I'll be a mess if I have to go home without her. I'm a mess right now just thinking of her coming at 36 weeks and this would be my first c-section, I don't know what to expect. I have a lot going through my mind.

Had a c-section just before 36 weeks. I believe I was 35 weeks and like 4 days. My water broke and my daughter was breech. She had a cpap in to help her lungs not struggle with breathing, she could breathe on her own they just didn't want her working more than she had to. She was in the nicu for 10 days, I had to go home after 4 days. The cpap was taking out on her 3rd day in there and she had to stay the rest because she wasn't eating full bottles without needing to feeding tube to finish. We didn't get to breastfeed because of the cpap. She'll latch but is used to bottles so she doesn't like to work to get milk out of the booby. She's almost 3 months now and she's healthy and growing perfectly normal. She was 6lbs 2oz and 17 1/3in when she was born. Now she's 10lbs 2oz and 22 1/2in.
