@nicoclev I read a baby can test positive for 2-3 weeks after eating bm with mj in it. It breaks my heart to cause he gets sooo many of them.. But it won't be so bad once he's of the thinners. If I knew he was going to get blood drawn ahead of time I can stop, but you can't necessary ask the pedi if he will drug test lol. There is just so much he can benefit from it, along with the many reason I smoke for myself. One of the big reasons is stress and I don't eat like I should, especially while bfing. I would have a better appetite and get my much needed calories

I've always heard that thc is sort of like alcohol as far as coming through the breast milk. I saw a study posted on Facebook but that was months ago so I can't find it.

I don't think it'd look suspicious if you asked about the pokes you're the mommy and idk about you but it breaks my heart when my LO gets poked. I didn't know he was getting poked at his last visit and cried with him the whole time.

Thanks ladies! My little man has been poked 2 times a day for blood thinners, plus labs for his blood thinners every 2 weeks, do you guys think it would be suspicious if when he came off his blood thinners if I nonchalantly asked how many more pokes he will need? Lol I've done a lot of research and the good outweighs the "bad" (except cps of course) for both of us, not just me.

Hmmm. Unless he had a reaction that could be related to thc, I don't see why they would test him.. unless you gave them a reason to (like, walking into the doctor's office smelling like weed or something). I personally believe waiting until he's no longer breastfeeding would be the best option just in case- I've known someone on medical marijuana who had her kids taken away because the kids tested positive from second hand smoke or some shit. I don't have any personal experience on the matter; I stopped smoking weed looooongggggg ago && I haven't seen any research on any positives or negatives on the subject of weed and breastfeeding. Hopefully someone can offer some more insight.

I think they do some labs at nine months and I have heard from different people they do test and then have heard they don't I think it depends on dr and if they think you are using

Normally thc is found in the stool of babies.

If you were to test him and it DID come pos they can call CPS.

They do blood tests but it would be random unless something happens to him. No worry with the doctor doing it because you would be with your child but God forbid sometbing happen and you need to take him to the hospital, the possibility is there that they will do labs on him.
