Before my son, music helped me through a lot. Hearing the news of Linkin Park's Chester Bennington today shattered my heart. As someone who listened to Linkin Park a lot to get out of my head and to feel not so alone, it hurts to know someone who has helped me couldn't find help for himself. Feels like losing a best friend, and I've never even met him. Depression is so dangerous. Please please, reach out. Find help. Please.

It's so heartbreaking. My husband thinks I'm being silly @nomaci, but when music is something your life has revolved around, losing an artist can feel almost like losing family. I'm so angry too because I was supposed to see them two years ago with my father, but Chester broke his leg and it was canceled. My dad promised me we'd see them together next time. He went without me. So I never got to see them live either.

So very well said. I spent so many years listening to them, finding comfort in their lyrics. I can't remember if the very first song I heard was Crawling or One Step Closer, but ever since then whenever I've been down or in need of comfort, I'd put on one of their cds. I bought tickets to see them in Camden next month, and I'm so sad I won't get to see him now.
