My newborn has had the hiccups for 20 minutes and its still going on is that normal how do I stop them ?

Hiccups are harmless, it's just the babies immune system working. If he hiccups forever that's normal.

@mybabyboyontheway gripe water is COMPLETELY natural it won't hurt him what so ever but it will get rid of his hiccups it takes the tiniest amount to make them go away. Or just try giving him a bottle and sometimes babies will hiccup if they are wet

@theinkedmommy I wish he is a premie and docters wont let me give him anything but the formula

Have you tried burping him while bouncing lightly that usually works
