How Can I Restore My Breast Milk Supply After Stopping?

so I breastfed my daughter for a week & a half . I had to stop because I couldnt handle the pain of her not latching correctly . I wanted to allow my nipples to heal while I pumped so she could still get breast milk without me grinding my teeth in pain the whole time she fed . SOOOOO , while allowing my nipples heal & lumping every 2-3 hours my milk went from 3oz (combined) to barely covering the bottom of the bottle . I still leak but when I attempt to pump nothing comes out . I was wondering if there was any way I could get my milk supply back because my daughter is now on formula which I didnt want to do & I only have 2 bags of milk left in my freezer .

There's mother's milk tea, or lactation treats. I've also heard Ben and jerry's oatmeal icecream

There is no food, tea, or product that will help your supply. The only thing that will increase your supply is pumping/nursing more. Google power pumping, that will help you.

Is baby possibly tongue tied? It could be the latching problem also try a nipple shield. The mothers milk tea and fenugreek pills helped me when I re lactated with one of my boys

@sims.krista I would suggest trying to re introduce to boob? I know that you will produce only what baby needs.

@jae I tried it . I pumped for 10 minutes every 30 minutes for 2 hours . & then kept pumping every 2 hours until my boobs were empty . but nothing happened.

@sims.krista, contact a lc. I had to slow feedings from boob this time because it feels like there is a thousand needles going into my nipples. I get so emotional and I try feeding as much as possible and for as long as possible without it hurting but it literally left me in tears.

Maybe try the sandwich fold when trying to get her to latch.

The best way to get baby back to breast is stay relaxed. Keep trying. Give her a little formula/milk not a whole serving and try to get her to latch. Take a bath with her or do skin to skin in bed. Being close and naked can draw them to the boob. Anytime shes fussy or rooting, try the boob. If she refuses, give a little supplement and try boob again before giving up. If you dont know proper latch look up "flipple technique" or deep latch on youtube.

Breastfeeding hurts like hell. I cried so much when I first started. Go buy some gel nursing pads. You can put them in the fridge and they feel heavenly on nipples

Breastfeeding moms: so I am planning on going on a 3 day vacation with my hubby & a bunch of friends to Catalina in May, (my baby won't be going with us) and I do not wanna be pumping and dumping every 2 hours out there.. so if I don't pump or breastfeed for 3-4 days, will my milk supply drop significantly? 😩😩 & I don't know how I'm gonna deal with the engorgement pain if I can't find time to pump out there.
