Does anyone have any advice on how to get my son to drink from a sippy cup? I've tried several different kinds and he just doesn't get it. We've been trying since he was 6 months old. What worked for you mommies? TIA
I found my son a bottle from Walmart. It came with 2 nipples one was a regular bottle nipple and the other was a sippy cup nipple. I got him to take the regular one and just swapped the 2 one day randomly. Honestly for my son it was more so that the bottle alone looked different.
@jaxxmommie22, thank you for the advice! I think this may actually work. He catches on to things pretty quickly normally haha
@berrongc, right! I was so happy that it worked for my son hope it works for yours too!!😊
@jaxxmommie22, the first sippy cup I got him has the same thing. I may have to try that before spending anymore money on cups haha
My son wouldn't take his sippy cup he hated it but i think he just hated it bc he didn't know what to do since it was hard and he's used to nipples. But his sippy cup that I first got him had a rubber piece inside so it wouldn't spill everywhere. I took out the rubber piece and put water in it and he realized it had water in it and he just started drinking out of the cup then after 5 mins I put the rubber piece back in and he still took the sippy cup best thing I ever did
Aww maybe he's just not really into them yet. But yea the cup with straw thing should be fun. I remember when I introduced flexable straws to my son & put it in regular cups & he liked them. You just have to watch him cause of spills but then maybe after that, he might get interested in sippy cups hopefully. Good luck
@karleyy, we tried that sippy cup. But he does drink from regular cups when offered. I'll have to try the thing with the straw though
Have you tried giving him liquids in cups? Of course he'll spill easily but if he likes the idea you can then buy straws & put them in cups so he can sip off of them. Then maybe you can get your baby a sippy cup that has a straw already attached to it. & if he doesn't like it, you can put only water in the sippy cups cause of course he'll get thirsty & want to drink out of the sippy cups. Hope I made sense. I got my son the Nuby sippy cups I believe. He only knows those. They have a plastic straw attached. But it's your preference on what sippy cup ☺
@berrongc they're in Walmart but you have to look a little close to make sure it has both nipples.
