Pediatrician is making me switch to formula for a week because baby girl is spitting up and not gaining enough she only gained 4oz in 2 weeks even though I was feeding her every 2 hours religiously. He said I only have to do it for the week and then I can switch back to exclusively breastfeeding but omg we've done the formula for a day and her poop smells sooo bad and there's so much of it. 😷

And the smell too it's the acid reflux formula I swear my first born was on soy formula , disgusting and my baby now is on acid reflux formula since a baby and his is worse.
Oh okay no that doesn't sound bad at all it looks like she gaining the weight she's supposed to.

I don't breastfeed but I think you should take his advice and try it out maybe he's trying to see if formula helps her gain a little more in a week and then probably talk to you about what he RECOMMENDS. give it some thought whatever makes you comfortable with doing to baby girl go with. Moms know best.
@beebaby how much should she be eating because he told me to give her a 4 oz bottle every 2 hours. When I pump I only get an oz every 2 hours.
@beebaby I'm still putting her on my boob for 10min on each side before I give her the formula. You think I shouldn't give it at all?
@logansjay it's Similac for I think acid reflux. @mommychina_ he prescribed her zantac too and I don't know I guess he thinks it will help her gain some. She weighs 7 pounds 4 oz and will be a month old friday
If baby is spitting up breast milk, what does this pediatrician think formula will do? How much does she weigh? She's gaining that's all that matters.
You're making little milk and it will only get worse if you don't breastfeed her often. If you continue to give her formula you must pump right after each feeding to truck your body. Your body needs to produce more milk. In my opinion I wouldn't stop breastfeeding I would stop the formula.
