Baby girl makes a wheezing squeaky noise every time I put her down flat. She's not even 2 weeks old…

My baby did that too! She was still a newborn & I stayed up all night just watching her . I was so worried & then before I knew it , it stopped .

@b.danos did the doctor ever say anything about it? It Has me so worried

My dr told me it was normal for babies to become a little bit congested in the first few weeks. My son was like that for about the first month.

@jcbaby, it didn't last long enough for me to even call the doctor. I think it lasted 2 days . But call your baby doctor! Get an ease of mind . I would have if it lasted longer than it did

@b.danos I called and the oncall told me to take her to an afterhours doctor...but she has her 2 week appt on Wednesday so I thought I'd just wait

My baby girl had the same thing for about 2 weeks then it just went away. Baby's have small airways and nasal passages.

Congestion isn't always a clog. It can be narrow passages for any number of reasons. Often overuse of a nasal aspirator can cause swelling making congestion worse. With all that being said, I'm not a dr so go with what your dr suggests.

My son still has the same thing not as bad though his pedi said some babies have a really small nasal passage so any little thing in there makes it sound like that but if you keep on using the suction thing its going to make it worse my making it inflamed so to just leave it they grow out of it

Flip her on her belly. If it gets way better or goes away when you do that then she has tracheomalacia and will need to see an ent dr. However I doubt it's that. But we just found out my baby has it so I figured I'd let you know anyway just in case:)

@b.danos @mswedes @kateyez5 @milky_mama2017 @mrs.sims we just went to her pediatrician the day before yesterday and I figured I'd update...he says that it's because the area around their vocal cords isn't fully developed sometimes and so it's soft and when she breathes in that's why I hear that squeaky noise! There was a name for it..it started with an L but I forgot it.
