I had a c section (my first) and I did very well and so did baby. Even my recovery went well. I have a high tolerance for pain but I didn't even take the prescription meds, just the ibuprofen.

I didn't have to ask for it they brought it in to put it on me before trying to make me get out of bed

don't worry about it I'm glad to help you as much as I can trust me I understand how you feel and I didn't have anyone to explain this stuff to me so I was even more scared lol

@lovinmommy51 o0 okay that's good to know. & good for me to keep an eye on that I'm at least passing gas. Bc it's not a daily thing for.me to have to poop everyday. Sometimes I don't poop for 3 days or so. .. did u ask for the binder ? I was just reading about how those help with the pain after word & help keep u in motion without moving your abdominal muscles as much. Sorry for all the questions. .. BUT GOD I'm so nervous & scared! I get such bad anexity too where I go into a full blown panic attack.. : / but I'm trying to keep my mind from wondering there since I still have a week till the day..

this is the "binder" my hospital gave me.... they put it on me before making me get out of bed for the first time and I left it on all the time only took it off to shower and would let it be off for a little bit of time while laying in bed flat on my back but I would have my husband help me put it back on before attempting to get up.... also when I would take it off to shower I would make sure I was in standing position already before removing it and I would hold it in place while losing the Velcro to make sure it didn't pull on the incision

because they would ask me if I had a bowel movement yet and I would tell them no and they would ask if I was passing gas and I told them yes and they said it's fine the bowel movement will just take a little time but it will happen on its own

it may depend on the hospital... my nurses didn't even know I had a bowel movement before I left because they kept asking me but the last time they asked me was like an hour before it actually happened.... they just told me not to worry about it and that it will happen.... I think as long as you are passing gas which I had a lot of they aren't too worried about it

one thing that did take a while for me to be able to do again that I'm just now starting to be able to do again was lift my legs high enough to be able to shave or put my own pants and underwear on.... had to get my husband to put them on my feet and pull them up to my knees where I could grab them and pull them up..... and I wouldn't try bending over for at least the first week... I made the mistake a trying to bend over far enough to wash my legs and feet and that was very painful...... the hospital where I stayed gave me this thing they call a binder which is basically like a girdle and that helped a lot.... there was a serious difference in the pain level when have the binder on and when having it off....

@lovinmommy51 is it true they don't let you leave the hospital till after your first bowel movement?? && I already have trouble peeing so that's prob gunna be more difficult for me! Part of it I think is due to a medication I have to take. .. but everytime I sit to pee if I haven't been holding it, it takes me sometimes 5 to 6 mins to go. .. I hate it!Lol

yes the next day I got up to shower.... my daughter was born at 10:39a.m. and they didn't take the catheter out until around 11 at night so I didn't really do much that day just they had me get up out of bed after they removed the catheter and sit in a chair while they changed the sheets on the bed and then they left the room and I sat in the chair for a little while than ending up going to sleep and only got up to use the bathroom.... a little TMI it took a couple hours to be able to pee after they removed the catheter I literally had to sit there and keep pushing like I had to teach myself how to pee again lol and I didn't have a bowel movement until the fourth day after my c-section but they give you a stool softener to help with that

@lovinmommy51 all very good. Advice & as of right now my exact plan!
My fiance will be staying with me, &I had already mentioned to my OB that Motrin &Tylenol is all I prefer, unless the ovbs &in excruciating pain .. with a c-section they keep u in 3 days -2 nights right? Like the day u go in so Friday for me &then I'll most likely be able to go home by Monday?
Stairs are gunna suck when k get home, bc I live on 2nd level apartment. But after getting home I don't plan to leave for at least a week or 2.. sleeping is a big worry for me too After the procedure one thing I can't stop thinking about..l0l
