I had a home birth. It really depends on your area. Our new city is fine with it but in Los Angeles is very restrictive. You need to have a backup doctor and there's only one office that will do it.

You could stay at home but then you would be doing it unassisted which is harder. And not as safe.

@charong the only option I have here is to labor in a tub at the hospital but then I have to birth in the bed. It sucks but it's better than nothing

@charong I read up on the unassisted home birth and briefly considered it but decided not to bc god forbid something go wrong. I'm just not willing to take the chance. Now if baby comes really quickly and I don't make it to the hospital, then it's just how it is, but it won't be on purpose.

I heard moms just refuse to come out of the tub and they can't really force the mom to get out. I went in our tub and found it uncomfortable after 5 minutes. I had our daughter on the bathroom floor!

@charong lol my midwife was telling me the same thing about just refusing to get out of the tub. I'm thinking I'll be uncomfortable in there too bc I'm short and when I get into my tub, my back and hips hurt a lot and it's hard to move. I would rather just be on all fours and or squatting plus walking around.

My daughter was super fast. I was on all fours. Just three pushes and she was out.

@charong I'm thinking my son will be quick. He's my third and my first two came quick. It kind of worries me bc my wife works about 20 min away and then once she was to get her, we would still have e another 20ish min to get to the hospital.
