That is my brand new, never used, cast iron skillet.
... he washed it. In the dishwasher. Now it's covered in rust dust (my hand cane away with rust on it)
This thing came pre-seasoned!!!!
Anyone know how to fix it? I looked on Google but don't trust it, I'd rather talk to someone who's done it before..
@wyattsmomma16 no I would oil it up then when ever I use it just cook with it as normal. Then don't wash it out with detergents just wipe out out with water only. Let it soak if you have to but try not to use detergents. You can use scrubber but no detergents. Then I reoil It after it dry upside down .
I'm going to try the olive oil thing when I get home is there a specific temperature I need to set it to when I bake it
This is my first one it was a gift for Mother's Day and I just got it in the mail. My mamaw up north sent it to me because she knew I didn't have one.
@saniyyahhasan, I agree every household should have one. They are amazing! I was so happy when my husband came home with one
I have one n I wash it out b4 n forgot to turn it to let water run out it rusted too not as bad but I wiped it out too but just the rust part n put either vegetable oil or olive oil on the whole pan inside n out.... I think every kitchen should have a cast iron skillet in it. I had to buy my sister one as a house warming gift she don't even cook as much.
Cut a lemon in half and rub it on it.
