Ok ladies I'm super nervous... my son is going to the urologist to be circumcised today... a friend of mine let me know there's a chance they'll offer to let me watch... I would hate to see my baby in pain but I don't want him to go through it alone... has anyone watched their son get circumcised and how was your experience?
1) I'm not even sure why clothdiapermomma hasn't been banned from the app already because so many of us had issues with her shaming months ago when she posted a status about circumcision.
2) My nephew recently got his done and they said he slept through the entire thing. I don't know if I would watch it happen if I had a son because I cry when my daughter gets shots and I cried the entire time she was gone to get tongue tie clipped.
@clothdiapermomma regardless of if you think it causes problems or not she didn't ask about that. No where in her question was there a should I get it done or what might happen if I do. All she wanted to know was should be be there with him.
@sequala_parson, I'm so sorry you had to put up with all of those negative comments. People always feel like they need to throw in there opinions about everything, even when they're not asked. Smh. As for sitting back there with him, I don't know if I could do it or not. I do know that if I have a little boy, he will be circumcised, though. Praying the surgery goes well!! 🙏🏼
@clothdiapermomma obviously she has already decided she is going to get him circumcised. She is not asking you to try to talk her out if it. If I ever have a boy I am going to get him circumcised as well. They say it's actually better to do so. I have heard plenty of story's about uncircumcised guys having more problems than circumcised ones.
My friend had hers cut but i wasnt there to watch, but i know within two days it had stopped bleeding and he didnt even bleed a lot just spotting a little . He didnt cry either during diaper changes . & just remember he wont remember it 🙂
@haley-lamb, I'm grateful for all the positive reinforcing feedback she's receiving from other moms. That's what she asked for .. :)
@shellbell0391, yeah I mean its not as terrifying as a grown man going and getting it because it will take longer to heal and the pain is terrible or so I was told. My fiancés mother didnt have him circumcised and he wishes she did do it when he was little instead of not having him cut. When we found out we are having another boy that was the FIRST thing he said to me. He didn't hesitate to tell me he will be circumcised. But after they clamp the baby they hardly bleed right after, by the time we went home he was bleeding and it never fazed him. I am going to do what I think is best for my kids regardless of everyone opinion because at the end of the day its still their opinion and I am their mother. Yeah I think they told me Vaseline would work fine for it and just to keep it clean and he will be fine. They usually give you a paper telling you how to care for it and show first time mothers of boys how to care for it. I think KL was gone maybe 15 minutes of that and he was back with me wide awake and ready to eat.
@shellbell0391, o ok... I saw my nephew after he got it done... it wasn't too bad
@savanna_garcia same. I was so scared but he didnt cry during diaper changes or anything and it healed pretty quick. Just gotta put a lot of that vaseline or whatever they give you on
You're welcome! The worst part is that they strap their arms and legs to a board. That is what makes it so awful
Thank you. I wouldn't worry about their opinions. I was a cna and over half of that wasnt true. My son hasn't had any problems after being circumcised and he is almost 2. Even when they brought him back to my room he never once cried over it and it didn't seem to bother him afterwards.@sequala_parson
@sawyersmom, that's all I wanted to know... thank you 😊
@savanna_garcia, thank you for the support and I wish you so much luck with the delivery of your new baby boy
I recommend not sitting in the room. It looks a little bit like torture honestly. More for you than for him. My mom actually said it was a really traumatizing experience for her to witness. But it is over in a matter of minutes
@momtothe3rdpower no one asked that though.. She wanted to know if anyone has watched their son get it done..They give a shot to numb the are and anesthesia is given when they are older..
My baby was circumsized i didnt watch but it only took 15 mins or so and they brought him back to me and he was just chillin with a pacifier in his mouth not crying or anything.
Also my bf is circumsized and he doesnt remember it so i don't really think its a traumatic event that he will live with for the rest of his life and i think he will be fine 😘 I had to watch my baby get his foot pricked and squeezed so they could get his blood for testing and i think that was worse than getting him circumsized and no one seems to think thats inhumane soooooo idk anyway have a drink and relax yall
@sequala_parson I agree! I have 3 boys who are circumcised. Your son will do just fine. They do give him a numbing shot so he just feels little pinches, the video I had watched the baby only cried when receiving the shot and it was like a 2 second whimper.. I found the quickest way for it to heal was by using A&D ointment in him and applying a little to the diaper so it doesn't get stuck at all. Baby will be okay, if you want to be there to support him through it, you should. I personally couldn't, and I knew that everything will be okay.. Praying for a speedy recovery!
@sequala_parson my son was circucised and my next in August will be too. They didn't let me go back with my first son but he was in and out in no time. I hope with this baby they will let me go back to be by his side. If they didnt offer id still ask, don't worry about all these other women who went out of the way to start drama. Your his momma and you'll do what you think is best. I'd like to find out others experience as well. Ill be praying anyways. Good luck love!!
@jcbaby, thank you so much for the encouragement... I really needed that... I honestly didn't think it would spark controversy but it showed me that strangers would stand up for me so I thank everyone who did
Both my boys were circumcised, but it was right after they were born. I probably wouldn't of been able to watch not because of the videos just because it's my son.
@mcrowell0970, that makes me feel better... thank you
The mama who asked the question didn't ask anybody what they thought about circumcision. She has made her decision and whether you agree with it or not it's not your child and nobody asked for your 2 cents and mom shaming. She asked if she should be in the room or not...that was the question either answer that question or get off of her status. @sequala_parson Sorry you're having to go through all of the comments of people who are trying to scare you. You make the decisions for your baby because you grew him for 9 months...he is yours and you know what is best. Personally, I would want to be in the room just because it's comforting to have your mom there when you're in need. Sometimes I wish I had my mom there with me now when I was sick😂 and it might make the process easier for him knowing that you are there. Good luck hun and just know that you're a good mom no matter what you decide! 💖 Don't let anybody get you down.
@phase, thank you so much... you have no idea how much your comment means to me ❤️
@haley-lamb, people have too much time on their hands. This isn't a place to judge each other. It's a place to provide encouragement. But when you can't control what another person does it causes a person to have internal friction. Those people I stay away from. Block.
Sequala girl just breathe. I stopped reading the comments after clothing diaper mom gave her unwarranted input. He's your child and I do understand why you want to be there but the doctors know what they're doing. Trust God. It's going to be more painful for you than him. They'll numb him and do the procedure. My son got it the day he left the hospital and I didn't watch to answer your question. I wouldn't dare YouTube it because that would have discouraged me from getting it done. Me and my husband decided we wanted it to be done but google discouraged us and we almost changed our minds. Handle your business but I'd say sit it out. It's all so glad it's over and the decision has been made because with all the naysayers it makes you feel crazy. Do you. The people who are so opinionated aren't going to be there for your son when he's thirty and wishes he would have had it done. I hope that helps. Much love xoxo
We had my son circumcised, they did it the day after I had him. He is now 4 & doing great.
@momtothe3rdpower, my issue is that I didn't ask for the risks... I asked for experiences PERIOD... the older he gets, the more pain he'll be in if he gets it done
@6.5.16, unfortunately I did not address your comment earlier but the same goes for you. Everyone needs to stop right here. Let's keep in mind that I am a Momlife moderator. The disrespect is not ok. And @clothdiapermomma, that is enough. Stop right here. With all due respect You have said enough now.
@clothdiapermomma they are all grown men, no one is encouraging or discouraging their opinions on it. I feel if you don't want your child circumcised that is the decision you make, if you do then no one should try to change your mind. I personally would circumcise every son that I have, and all 3 of my boys have had no issues.
My oldest son's dad's whole family besides him are not circumcised and every single one of his cousins who didn't have it done once they got older say they hate that they weren't and they all felt strongly about having their son's circumcised. None of my boys have ever had issues. She wasn't asking for your opinion on having it done she was asking if anyone had watched. And her son is about to have it done, so for you to jump on here and comment that is unnecessary.
@clothdiapermomma, my name is Heera and I am a Momlife Moderator thank you for expressing your opinion but we are going to stop right here. Any comment you submit after this will be submitted to Momlife for review. Thank You.
@mommabear17, exactly... idk what she's talking about... I choose for my son to not have a "turtleneck" 😂 I just wanted to know how the ones who got it done for their sons dealt with it 🤷🏾♀️
@clothdiapermomma, my child could've died being BORN like all children... isn't that a risk?
@clothdiapermomma and @sequala_parson there are also many baby's and men that have no issues, and 90% of men who arent circumcised as a baby wish that they would have been. I have 3 boys, all of which are and I've never had a problem. It's a preference for you and your children. If she wants it done that's on her to decide what's better for her child. I have also worked in a nursing home and never dealt with issues that you are speaking of. And it has been VERY VERY few children who have died or bled out from a circumcision as they tie it off for the blood to clot itself.
@haley-lamb, thank you... I don't think that anybody actually READ my question
@clothdiapermomma, hmmm... I appreciate you making me more nervous about the procedure and letting me know that my child could DIE but I don't remember asking whether or not I should get my child circumcised... I didn't ask for ANYONE'S opinion on that... I specifically asked for mothers that have EXPERIENCED their child getting circumcised... I don't need your unsolicited advice... I'm a cna and I've dealt with men that were circumcised and uncircumcised... not much of a difference when it comes to that
@jordyn_beth, I hope so... I won't know until I get there
I didn't. They played a heartbeat and white noise for my son and kept it nice and warm to make it seem like he was with me. He was only a day old though. Maybe they do something like that to make him more comfortable?
I didn't watch with my other boys, and I don't think you should "have" to watch. I wouldn't, but I guess if you feel the need to be next to him then you should.
@mommy.to.sterling, yea I wish they would have been able to do it then but he had a small complication so they wanted to send him to an urologist to make sure it's done right
@mommabear17, I watched how it was done on YouTube to... I just don't know if I can stand there and do nothing while he screams... shots are 1 thing but this is surgery
Well out of curiosity, I watched how it was done on YouTube. And I don't think I could watch them do it to my baby..
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
My 5 year old brother just got circumcised due to all the infections he kept on getting & seeing him in so much pain not being able to walk makes me glad I got my son circumcised as a newborn & planning on doing the same with my second baby.
I’m sorry but I’m still not circumcising my son 🤷🏽♀️ and I don’t care what anyone has to say about it either cause it’s not right to me. That’s their decision to make.
(Thread Closed) Let’s go out with a bang
Let all the dramas unfold! I blame Jessica Alba

Is anyone going to judge me for giving my unborn son some McDonalds?
@6.5.16 Go away.
