5 Signs Toddler is Ready to be Potty Trained
Potty training a toddler is no easy task. It takes a lot of consistency and constant reminding. Our toddler is actually a fast learner thankfully! It didn't take her long to learn how to go potty. She was excited for new potty training pants and potty training rewards. 3 days of potty training is about all it took for her to grasp how to go potty on her own. She has been using the potty on her own for about 5 months now. She just turned 2 in May.
Think your toddler is ready to be potty trained? Here are 5 signs:
1. Your toddler brings you his or her diaper bag or a diaper after wetting or pooing in diaper
2. Your toddler says "ewww" after wetting or pooing in diaper
3. Your toddler tells you he or she is wet
4. Your toddler tells you he or she pooed in diaper
5. Your toddler touches/pulls diaper and may even try to take it off because it's wet

@lovelily, awesome! Love that..great tips! @erikasmiles123, have you tried something like lovelily did? I was going to mention the "potty dance" it's an app where it talks about going to the potty and there is a song and all...does your son like to sing and dance? Also you may just have to stay there with him at the potty like gently holding him so he's not trying to get up and whatnot? If I think of anything else I'll let you know 🤔
I bought the book "Once Upon a Potty" by Alona Frankel. I would read it over and over to my step daughter before we started training. Then when we started training I would put her on the potty and we would read the book again. She picked it up pretty quick! It was a fun game and when she went potty successfully she got a treat. Also, I didn't get angry when she had accidents. It's important not to make them fear having am accident.
Yes he doesn't care too sit for anything. I have tried rewarding him and everything. My kid is always on the go nothing makes him sit. I think the only thing that would make him sit would be like a highchair thing where he can't get up lol.
@erikasmiles123, have you tried rewarding him for sitting on the potty. Baby steps. Tell him if he sits on the potty until you tell him to get him he'll get a sticker to put on the sticker chart or he can pick a prize out of the prize box (wrap up a shoebox and put in toys from the dollar store)
My son does all the above but doesn't sit on the potty any suggestions? He doesn't watch TV or ever sit still that is what I am struggling with.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
