Anyone here had to hire a nanny? My hours don't permit me to send my son to daycare and there are very few 24 hour daycare centers I'd feel comfortable sending him to and I think a nanny would be my best bet

@beezy_mcflyy, depends on your area. We paid about $15 an hour a while ago in Los Angeles. If it's afternoons, you could try to find a high school or college student to help out. Or share a nanny with another family to save money.

I use to work 12hr shifts overnight and hired someone to watch my son during the day at my house while I slept. I went to care.com and found a really great person who helped out for the 1st yr of his life.

It's definitely gonna be pricey especially cos you need a nanny to stay over night. I think the going rate around here is about $20 an hour. You can check on care.com

@charong, was it expensive? That's my main concern

I was a nanny and it was a lot of fun :) I also worked at a daycare and between the two, being a nanny is way better care!
