can i eat ice while in labor ? cause im gonna want something to help me relax.
I'm bringing ALL that lol. @arivera64, Bot about to have me starving again.
@firsttimemom1 np. Yes if you're gbs positive then you would need to go in right away to get started on antibiotics. And you're welcome
@arivera64, aw dang okay i think i tested positive for that group b strep. but i will be sure to ask tomorrow at my appointment. thanks mama😉
@firsttimemom1 unless you have a condition that makes you high risk like placenta previa, group b strep, etc....no. Be sure to ask your doctor what they expect of yoy when your water breaks. I was not at any type of risk and so i stayed home for 12hrs. Then i labored for an additional 17hrs
Me too! @firsttimemom1, Lesson here is to eat something before labor and bring light snacks. Lol.
@arivera64, so water breaking doesn't really mean anything unless your contracting?? (ftm)
@breloya damn. Yeah i was stuffing my face. My water broke at about 10pm and i stayed home until about 11 the next morning because i wasn't contracting.
@arivera64, @breloya, haha oh wow. okay. i just learned something helpful😉🙌🏾🙏🏾☺️
Psh, I don't blame you. Had I known I was going to get induced, I would have eaten something before. But it was supposed to be just a regular appointment. I was thinking of what I was cooking for breakfast once I left... and never got to leave. Lol. @arivera64,
@breloya facts. My husband was driving me to the hospital i said stop at McDonald's and get me some pancakes. He thought i was crazy. Lol
You're right. I'm eating this time around lmao. It's crazy that they expect us to starve and then have the energy to push out these big ole babies. And NOT cuss them out. I'm not myself when I'm hangry. 😂@arivera64,
@breloya girl listen. You pay them correct? They don't pay you. Therefore, you tell them what YOU want. I always recommend moms who want to eat in labor stick to lighter foods, but yea we need to eat man
Damn. Where were you two years ago? 😂😂😂 I needed this information. I was starving and had no energy. I hadn't eaten for over 40 hours. @arivera64,
You can do whatever you like. You are the patient. They may advise you against it, but everything is an option. Even if you have to sign a waiver. My hospital has a no eating in labor policy aside from ice and icees. Best believe I brought me in some pancakes and yogurt.
Some of y'all are so lucky ^^ after I got my epidural I was only allowed to eat ice chips. I wasn't even allowed to drink the water that melted from it, but I secretly did cause your girl was thirsty after 19 damn hours. 🤣😎
I wasnt allowed to eat or drink while in labour
hmm @breloya, okay. my friend was able to eat jolly ranchers so yes i will have a bunch of those. i will ask ahead of time so i wont get my hopes up cause popsicles would be excellent😍
You should be allowed. I was allowed ice chips, water, and sugar free popsicles. Every hospital is different though. Some even allow jello.
@breloya lol
