@xoxo.pitaa my mom never breastfed either !! I was so uneducated with it , I actually almost gave up too! But then I started to see a lactation consultant, joined this breastfeeding group on facebook, read a book on breastfeeding and it helped me learn so so much and I am so happy I never quit. If you have any questions or need help with anything! don't be afraid to ask!

@melanie3, i hope i can do this. its so frustrating. a lot of my friends gave up on breastfeeding. and my mother is no help cause she never breastfed lol

@xoxo.pitaa it's definitely a start 👍 since she is 5 days old, your milk is probably just barley started to come in, the more you pump/latch the more your body signals to make more. Her belly is the size of an apricot right now or an easier way is her tummy is the size of her fist.

@melanie3, yea i started pumping. i don't think i make much milk though. but its a start i guess 😂

@xoxo.pitaa that's good so you make sure she is eating ! Just make sure to pump or hand express so your body knows to still make milk😁 I have to supplement formula during my periods because my milk supply drops during that time !

yeeees it's very frustrating, and my boyfriend gets all worried too so we just end up giving her formula 😭

That's how my baby was ! It's like she smelt my boob and was trying to look for it but didn't understand that I was trying to put it in her mouth lol it was frustrating

Oh I just saw your profile ! She's 5 days old. It will probably hurt the first 10 to 14 days or so untiI you guys have breastfeeding down. I would buy the cool gel nipple pads from Wal-Mart. They are 5 bucks for a pack of 3. And use it after every feeding to help soothe.

@melanie3, she's 5 days. sometimes she moves her head around alot and won't really let me put my nipple in her mouth..

@xoxo.pitaa how old is baby ? Before baby was born I was always sensitive with my nipples lol I didn't want anyone touching them, but with breastfeeding it surprisingly didnt hurt only when she had a bad latch. I had the lactation consultant come in everyday for the 3 days I was in the hospital. Is baby opening mouth wide enough before attaching to your nipple ?

What hurts ? Latching ? Or after feedings?
