How long can a 5 almost 6 week go safely without eating? I wake him still if he doesn't wake up…
How long can a 5 almost 6 week go safely without eating? I wake him still if he doesn't wake up after 4 hours. And right now he's awake and it's been for hours and he just won't eat. He acts hungry then won't eat he just pulls off and sits there. I guess my question is should I just let him eat when he's hungry even if it's past 4 hours? Or is he still to young. He went 5 hours this morning before I finally just woke him up cause it makes me nervous

In the hospital they say no longer than 4 hrs. They are human just like we are, so as long as it doesn't go on for days and they have the wet diaper ratio on lock I would really worry.

What if it does go on for days? There are times through out the day where he will eat 2-21/2 hours later then 4-5 hours. Does that matter? Should I set a specific time limit that he shouldn't go over?

If he's getting the right amount of wet diapers then dnt worry.if not then u shud wake him to eat..lightly tickle his feet take his clothes off tummy to tummy..my baby was a lazy eater but grew out of it.

albareyes04 usually when he goes that long is cause he don't want to wake up but today he was awake and still didn't want to eat. Wasnt fussy out anything just not acting hungry and yes breastfeeding

Have u tried giving the breast milk in a bottle? U shud contact ur local BF lactation consultant.
