Yes I know and it's so unfair, not everyone is like the waste of spaces on the benefits programmes, really bugs me, you could get a boy dressed smartly and still be a trouble maker but because they are dressed smart they don't draw much attention!@kayteamay, @west94, xx

Don't see a problem personally and if I had a little girl I would get hers done, but definitely not for a little boy🙈😀x

@lauren1996 totally agree with you. When you watch benefit shows and things like that they always show a certain type of person (usually a bloke in a tracksuit smoking weed etc) so automatically people assume anyone who looks like that is like that. Sadly, thats society

Yes I get you, but that's the one thing I do hate, because my brothers have got there ears pierced and they always wear adidas track suits and stuff, and people are always calling them "rough" and "chavvy"

And I don't think it's right to label a child like that or a trouble maker as it does stick with them!

I have also worked in a school too.@kayteamay, x

It's "normal" down by my way aswell, my 4 brothers have it done and I don't see a problem with it but they were old enough to ask @west94, xx

Really? I put my boy in adidas tracksuit, I know where your coming from but it don't automatically mean they are gonna be a trouble maker because of what they are wearing or if they got a stud but I do understand where your coming from!@kayteamay, x

@lauren1996 @jodiec please dont be offended by this but its just my honest opinion/observation. Ive always worked in school and with children. The boys who would turn up to school with an stud in one ear or both you could automatically pick out as the trouble makers in the class. I have the same opinions towards tracksuits and baseball caps. Sorry if that offends anyone as it may not be the case for everyone but that's my experience.

I don't like boys ears done but I had Florence done at 6 months many risks when there older of infection touching them everyday to remove them for school would be painful and risky for infections catching them on the hair or while brushing here hair playing with them catching them on her clothes when she gets dressed just for us was a much safer way of doing it when she was a baby and I could care for them 24/7

In one sense I've always wanted to get it done but at the same time I've always put it off. For most of the same reasons you've all stated. I hate to take him to his injections and seeing him in pain, so that's always been something that's put me off actually getting it done I couldn't stand to see him in pain like that. I think if I was going to get it done I would have months ago instead of always finding an excuse not to, so I highly doubt I'll ever get it done without him asking x

I'm afraid I agree with @kayteamay , I really don't like males with earrings... but that might just be cultural prejudice (I grew up in Russia), where I grew up almost no one with a higher education had a tatoo or non-conventional piercings, I hear that's changing even there though. if my son wanted one, I would make him wait until he is 18 and pray that he will forget lol :))

in Spain they do it at the hospital as soon as you give birth if you bring earrings for a baby! I think there is nothing wrong with it :) my daughter would mist likely take them out and eat them, I'll pierce them when she asks for it.

I was curious, if it is illegal to get a tattoo or a piercing before you are 16, and even then you need parental approval, how does child piercing work? as long as it is conventional its OK? (basically, only girls and only 1 hole in the earlobe)

Im going to wait till my daughter is over the age of 10 and she asks to have them done and she understand what happens. I absolutely hate boys with earrings.

I'm just thinking I was reading up on it, tahts if they fall over or infants start to tug at them and rip them, I think I will defo be waiting till kenzie asks but I'm not gonna get it done I'm not against it but I don't want to put my boy in pain for no need and maybe even get infected or even pull it out and rip his ear!@jo.wilcox, x

Sorry I think it's cruel. What if they don't want it done? You've scarred your child for life then. You make a perfect little human to go and punch holes in them that they may not want. Xx

@lauren1996, same here, me and Craig we're going to get Charlie's done (one ear) when he was younger but both our parents were all like it's cruel. On one hand I would hate to see him cry because of pain I've put him through but on the other hand, he'll forget about it in an hour whereas when they're older they seem to be upset for longer. My nieces had there's done at 6 months, two didn't cry at all and the other cried for 5 minutes and was over it!

Nope, should be their own choice. A kid is not a fashion accessory and should have responsibility over their own body. Just because you made it does not mean you own it. They are their own person x

I wanted to get McKenzies done, but my MIL said it's cruel! I don't think it's cruel people's opinions! But I had mine done when I was like 6 months and I can't even remember it, and my brothers had there's done when they were like 2/3 I think had one stud @jo.wilcox, x
