Ladies I need your opinion. I am 38 weeks and 5 days. I went to the doctors today and he checked if I was open. I am 0cm but he informed me I will see an increase in mucus and increase discharge which might be brown or a little bloody and my contractions will get stronger and close together and if they do call him and go straight to the hospital. My sister said he swept my membrane because I was very uncomfortable during and after, lower back pains and pressure on my pelvis and vagina area with every step. Do you think he could've swept my membrane even though I'm not open yet?
@shababy, dang that really sucks it's my first too and my dr always explains everything maybe you should ask him next time just to make sure.. and I hope you have a safe and good delivery!!
@babyabilene, yeah you're right but this doctor out here had so many bad reviews and I didn't find out until I was already too far in my pregnancy because I just moved here. He does things very unprofessionally. Being this is my first I don't really know what's right or wrong and how things suppose to go with the visits. A lot of females switched their doctor for their next child and I will too if I have another
Good luck I know this sounds odd but have him try to go in deeper it will get the cum closer to your cervix and lay down for a little while after it got me to 1 cm at 32 weeks
I think he would have mentioned if he swept your membrane I don't think they can just do it without telling you the exact procedure you are having.. I got checked at 37w and was 1cm dilated my dr mentioned I could get spotting and cramping as well as pain.. and I did have a lot of cramping but nothing happened.
@mommysbabies, I've been walking with the dog for the past 3 days and I had sex last night. Im going to do some squats since I don't have a yoga ball handy and try sex again
@mommysbabies, I was just wondering because he sounded so sure when he said it like he enhanced my labor or something lol
Yeah I just looked online and saw mixed answers but I know just checking you can cause those things too
You have to be at least 1cm dilated to have the membrane sweep. I tried and I never dilated so I couldn't get it done. Your dr has to be able to get fingers in your cervix to do the procedure.
@mommysbabies, really? When I looked it up a lot of females said you had to be at least 1 cm.
@babyabilene, thank you love! Good luck to you as well! You're due around the the same time
