Okay I don't know if this is totally normal or not but my son started purposefully banging his head backwards when he sits in the car seat or highchair or even on my lap, and I tell him not to do that and he just smiles and keeps doing it. I just want to know if that's normal? I'm worried because he even does it on his wooden high chair and it can hurt him :(

@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, @alanamarie, thanks ladies, I'm just never sure if these things since I have like no prior experience with babies 😅 hopefully it stops soon

My son did that when he was a baby. It was horrible, he got me in the face a few times. He'll grow out of it eventually, it's a phase

Both of my sons have done that on the couch, as well as banged their heads on the floor. If you feed into their negative behavior, they'll continue doing it. As long as he's not getting hurt doing it, I would "ignore" it until he calms down and then you can check in him, make sure he's okay, etc. it's part of how they learn. Or at least, it seems to be normal.
