So it's getting really close to my due date.. I'm really ready to have the little one. And I'm thinking induction..…

I was induced for high blood pressure at 38.6 weeks. I went in thinking my water broke and it wasnt and they decided to induce me. I wish i Would've waited to go into labor. My whole pregnancy was healthy. It took 16 hours from start of induction to birth. The hard part was getting me dialated. Once they got the foley bulb in I dilated to 4cm then they started pitocin and I dilated the rest in an hour. It just took time for my cervix to efface then dilate. I dont regret having her early but I wish i could've experienced natrual labor. :)

@tarebear, that's better than I was!:) I was dilated at 1/2 cm for a month :/ I chose to be induced to have her on my dad's birthday. I started cervadil Monday at 6 and only dilated to 1 cm. They started pitocin at 4:30 Tuesday morning. I got the epidural around 1 or 2. They had to stop the pitocin for about 20 mins after getting my epidural bc she was getting stressed out bc my contractions were so close together. They started it back and when he checked me again at 5:30, I was only dilated to 3 :/ so I had to have a c-section. Not trying to scare you or anything, bc he said my body most likely just wasn't good at dilating! Or maybe if they wouldn't have had to stop the pitocin, I might've dilated more. 🤷🏼‍♀️ who knows. So you'd probably do fine being induced! My body just wasn't having it lol. I will say this though, people say pitocin makes your contractions worse and I believe that lol. By 2 1/2 cm, my contractions were awful.

@annaerandolph I've been dilated at a 2 for a little bit.

Honestly I would wait. I had to be induced because of pre eclampsia and my son was born in distress because of the medications and was in nicu for 3 weeks (along with an infection) unless you carry too long and you medically need it, id try to avoid it. Going in to labor naturally is a beautiful thing (And I'm not knocking down moms who chose differently)
