I haven't breastfed but if it's painful then something is wrong. I would at least talk to a lc and go from there.

If you say you're breastfeeding they should give you a pump anyway. The only thing they should say is did you try to get one from your insurance policy yet and then they should give you one either way

@ssdj4 theres nothing wrong. I've done this before. My daughter cluster feeds so my cracked nipples dont heal up cause she constantly makes them moist.

It took me 3 weeks of breastfeedjng for it not to hurt

@chaylalove exactly. My daughters latch is great but it's still painful cause their cracked and sore. She cluster feeds so every damn minute she wants to eat. They dont understand that and its pissing me off

@embracemthrhd2 with my son I breastfed and they didn't give me a pump. I had to fight with them to give me one. I ended up getting one from my insurance so they wont cover it for another 4 years cause I got my sons in 2015

You should be able to get one through insurance. I have a medical card and got one for free. Brand new Ameda double electric pump.

Odd question but to you air dry after breastfeeding or just put your boob away also I heard that soap can dry out your nipples when you shower but I'd try and see the counselor maybe she can help convince them to get you one

@jacesterlingsmommy they covered one for me in 2015 and wont do it again. They only cover them every 5 years.

@mommysbabies i air dry them when I apply the nipple cream. I have to just keep bugging them for it. My appointment is thursday for wic so I'm just gonna tell them either give me a pump or give me formula. I also make so much milk im wasting it by leaking cause I dont have storage bags atm.

@embracemthrhd2 no I still have the pump my insurance gave me I just dont like it and it doesn't suck hard enough but I dont need to explain that to them.

Yeah I go Thursday too do you happen to have lids to store bottles in fridge if not might be worth it to go to dollar store and get some and hand express into a bottle might sound strange but it might help
