I suck at this advice but I was a smoker before 2 of my 4 pregnancies...I just quit both times cold turkey. I quit for the last time after my second pregnancy and I just never started again...I was a pack a day for 20 years before I finally quit. I'm a big believer in "you can do anything you set your mind to."

Believe it or not, my doctor told to me to NOT quit cold turkey, and that it's not good for the body (pregnant or not, although he told me this while I was trying to conceive) to quit ~anything~ cold turkey. He told me to gradually, but quickly, wean myself off. I never fully quit but I ended up being able to go a full 48 hours without a cigarette and I was smoking about a pack a day also.

@risakellogg, yeah that's what I was saying lol. People keep telling me to quit cold turkey and shame me about smoking and shame me saying I'm wrong if I try to wean off. I keep telling them the baby goes through withdrawals too but it's hard to wean down more than a pack every two days 😔 I'm trying though.

And I'll tell you what too, I smoked like a damn chimney when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter and she turned out fine. I'm not saying you should keep smoking, but like, people that shame should be fucking shamed themselves.

@risakellogg, I've been getting all kinds of pregnancy shaming lately. Lol. Shamed for eating lunch meat, steak on occasion. Shamed for drinking soda, but I have quit coffee. I hate being treated like I'm incapable of lifting too. I got a job as a lube tech and people have been giving me shit about lifting tire assemblies and things.

People are so dumb. If they say something to you at work just be like "I'm pregnant, not incapable. Thanks." Or something smug like that ;)

@risakellogg, not sure yet. I just applied for Medicaid two days ago so I'm waiting on that card to come in so I can get an appointment

@risakellogg, me and my fiancée just moved to Gastonia, North Carolina last week. We left everything in Akron behind to move in with my dad. My moms side was very unsupportive of my pregnancy, to say the least.

Everything will work out, it always finds it's way :) have you tried using your local health department? Not all of them do ultra sounds but maybe they do.

@risakellogg, there's a pregnancy clinic nearby I'm gonna get into as soon as the insurance kicks in ☺️
