It's your decision you do what you want, he is your child. I did the same thing I let my husband make the decision because you're right he is the one with a penis and he knows what's best. Good luck and try not to let others opinion worry you. If anyone says anything than simply say ok thanks for your input but I have something better. Why don't you have your own baby and make that decision for your child. Every time I say that to someone that has something to say about any of my kids they are very quite afterwards.
