Hi mommies! How many of you are close to or at your pre pregnancy weight (after delivery, of course)? How soon did you start dieting or working out after delivery? I know this is a common issue for women, but I'd like to poll all of you before relying too much on the numerous articles out there about post pregnancy weight loss.
@conde1991 I appreciate your comments! I gained a lot when I was pregnant, too much, so it isn't all baby weight. I just want to feel like myself again, or close to it. I'm definitely not trying to compete, I just want to feel like I'm making progress for my own sake.
Why are women such in a hurry to get back to their bodies before an baby ? You don't understand all the work that your body had to do to keep you and your baby healthy . What it takes the body to carry a baby. Just let your body heal and don't rush it .. the genes will start you fit you again just don't let yourself go .. but I think women start competing with each other to see who can "snap back" the fastest when in reality that shouldn't even be a concern of ours
Kegels and light crunches for sure will help too, I did those within the first couple of weeks
@kyneedless21 that's awesome! I'm 30 tho with a 3 week old, and although I have been active and dieting, I damn sure haven't dropped 22 lbs lol. I am taking my son on walks more, cleaning, etc, but still have about 40 lbs to lose to be back at a size 4
It took me one week post-partum! I lost a total of 22 lbs, which was all I had gained from my pregnancy and then some. I ate a lot of fruits and red meats and stayed away from sugars (I don't know if those contribute to PP weight loss but it worked for me). And drank a lotttt of water. I cleaned a lot around the house too, which I considered my exercise lol! I'm now lighter than where I started. (:
You lie on your back with your knees bent. You can lift your head up toward your stomach and then down. And then lift up your pelvic area and squeeze and lower. Can't remember what those exercises are called. It's supposed to strengthen your stomach muscles after they have separated from pregnancy.
@charong, what kind of exercises? I think I'm ready to start working on fitting back into my jeans!
You must take care of your body so it can take care of you .. eat fresh veggies .. fruits .. and. Stay away from processed foods .. I know how frustrating it can be but love yourself .. love your body ,, fuel it with organic and fresh vegetables and fruits , homemade meals and you will be good to go ! Let your body do it's magic 💕
