That is exactly what my baby did at first! Latch then stop and cry! From day one! It drove me insane. for weeks and weeks I was trying to figure out why she was only eating for a couple mins then crying. I would call the hospital you gave birth at for a meeting with a lactation consultant. She helped me so much- this is my first time breastfeeding too. It shocked me on how difficult it is to breastfeed! But she's almost 4 months now and we've finally started to figure it out. And it's just been within the last month! It's so so hard at first but if you're patient and determined and feel it's right for you and your family, keep trying and meet with a lactation consultant. They are so helpful and knowledgeable and have so many tips and tricks!

It's okay we all learn somewhere lol my baby is 3 weeks and I'm still struggling. But yes your milk can take a while to come in. The more baby sucks the more your body will know to make more milk. Is your baby tongue tied? Ask your dr to check it could be a reason why he isn't latching.

Your baby is only 1 week. It takes about 12 weeks for your milk to fully come in. Getting baby to suck from your breast will bring in your milk. Power pumping is not a pump its. A routine. Pump for 15 min stop for 10 min then do 15 min again and so on.

Try doing a power pump to up your supply- the bad latch could be causing the poor supply since he's not pulling out as much your body thinks it doesn't need to make as much. Have you seen a Lactation consultant? They can help with the latch problem 😊👍🏼good luck mama!
