When will baby sleep through the night? My daughter is almost 3 months and she is still waking up every 3 hours. 😩😴
I put just a little baby spoon of rice cereal in her bottle before bed and she has been sleeping through the night for about three weeks. Before she would wake up every two hours.
@ambermento, thank you so much! Yes she has always been like this. I wanna say she is getting better but I don't wanna jinx it 😂😂
They do also go through multiple times of cluster feedings in the beginning so it might be that too. Has she always done it? My was always a terrible sleeper. Always had a really hard time going to sleep but my second sleeps better. Each baby is different :( hang in there mama! I'm sending good thoughts and prayers your way!
@nicolelh, ok! Thanks, I'll definitely try that.
My three girls didn't sleep through until around 5 months. One thing that helped get a longer block of time for me in those earlier months is I would do what they called a "dream feed" around 10pm when I went to bed, and then they would sleep for another 5 hours before waking. Basically it's when you top them off while they are sleepy. If you feed them and put them to bed at their normal bedtime, have some time to yourself in the evening then, before you head off to bed, pick them up (don't wake them completely by changing their diaper etc..) latch them on (or just put a bottle in their mouth) and they will usually instinctively begin dreamily eating. The process tops their tummies off so they don't wake as soon to eat and you can get a longer block of sleep. It usually bought me five hours at night.
See if she will go back to sleep one of the times without you picking her up. Sometimes sleep will take over and then she will go back into a deep sleep
@kellyt23, yes. She starts moving around then sucks on her fingers and starts crying.
@paparazzimom223, yes. She does like her swing but she doesn't sleep longer in it.
@ambermento, yes I do co-sleep. She does do better when she's in the bed with me then when I put her in her crib.
@kellyt23, when she wakes up she's hungry, I feed her and she goes back to sleep.
Mine has slept through the night since 5 weeks. @madismommy what do you do when they wake up? And same question to you @sirrahyoj
Mine slept through the night at 9 weeks but all babies are different best of luck mama
@lizabeth.1294, cosleeping doesn't make them wake up less. Although it can. It helps mama wake up during the right R.E.M. Cycle getting better quality sleep. It's still hard to wake up no matter what cycle you wake up during. 😩 im there with ya Mamas. My daughter is one and still wakes up a couple times at night.
If you do use the swing method be very careful. I had a swing that was supposed to be safe. It layed back and had all the right buckles. I let my son sleep in it while I was getting some stuff done and I came back in and he was pale as a ghost! His head had fallen down to his chest and he couldn't breathe right! Scary!
My baby is 5 months and doesn't sleep worth a crap most of the time... tonight being one of those times. We co-sleep and she still is an awful sleeper.
I wonder. Do you co-sleep? There's a book called nighttime parenting that I really recommend and it talks about the benefits of cosleeping. One of which is that our body's R.E.M. Cycles will sync up with our babies making it easier on momma cause she won't get woken up during a deep sleep. Meaning you'll get better quality sleep. AND your body temp will rise and lower with what baby needs! Our bodies are so cool! They really are amazing ☺️
Have you tried putting her in a baby swing? That was a life saver for me. 💛
My daughter is 5 months and lately she has been waking up every 30 mins. So I'm wondering the same thing ? Lol @sirrahyoj
