Oh my gosh!! I brought my baby to a family dinner so my aunts and uncles could meet my new baby. My baby started fussing just a little and my uncle dipped his finger in his wine and then put it in her f*ckinng mouth! I'm freaking out about this! I'm so pissed, someone please tell me there is no need to worry and she's just fine. She's only 3 months!
Your daughter will be completely fine, a single occurrence will not cause any issues; however, alcohol is not safe for infants so I would definitely not recommend using it in the future! If I were in that situation, I would give the person a stern scolding for doing such a thing, especially without consent!
Thanks everyone- first time mom paranoia gets the best of me sometimes! I was so mad and by the time I yelled at him it was too late lol. I feel a bit better though thank you!
She's fine. It's not the smartest idea & I totally get why you are upset & I'd definitely mention to him that you don't like it but like others said putting whisky on babies gums used to be common practice. This one tiny bit won't hurt her so don't let it worry you
Would never allow it period, they used to do a lot of shit back in the old days doesn't mean it's correct.
@rmreed, to each their own. What works for us may not work for others. My baby is healthy and happy ☺️
I can't imagine doing that to my kid...but alrighty then. And wine** @amaperalta03
@rmreed, I don't need to ask my doctor anything I'm the mom I can do anything I'd like especially if it's helping her. My mom did it with me as a child and I'm fine. I have a fussy teething baby so yes I rub whine or whisky on her gums and wala she's pain free.
Have you asked your doctor about it? I wouldn't do that...let alone often..but thats just me. I wouldnt want it to affect my son let alone the taste...geez 😥 @amaperalta03
I think she'd be fine. They say to put whiskey on gums of teething babies, so I think I teeny drop of wine would be ok :)
