Hey mommies! How old were your babies when you started to venture outside with them, and feel comfy running errands, etc? My son was in NICU for a week after birth, and was 4 weeks early, so I feel like maybe I'm more protective than I should be. I get nervous just taking him to the doctor!
I took my daughter out at 3 days old she spent 1 day in an incubator but just make sure he's covered up
I went to the mall with my daughter when she was 5 days. I would also take her shopping, pay bills, doctors appointment, out to eat, to the park, looked for a home with her so we viewed a lot of places etc. She never got sick until she was about 9 or 10 months when she got her first cold. But her pedi told me to take her out for walks and what not because she needed the sun.
^ I was the same I waited till about three months. She was 6 weeks early and it was flu season. So I kept her in.. she's 6months now and I still get nervous taking her out. But it's all up to you.
Our daughter is 2 weeks and we recently went to the mall to pick up some stuff. Just make sure baby is covered well and put a blanket over the carseat. Dont let people stick their hands or face inside his carseat either.
😂 reading the comments make me feel overprotective - maybe it is also the fact that I had a difficult birth and couldn't walk properly the first two weeks, but I took my son out just to the pediatrician and if I needed to go out, I'd put him very protected in his stroller and cover him up (flu season). My pediatrician warned me to avoid crowed areas like the mall or church etc till he gets his first shots - I'd still go but make sure he is covered away ... I started feeling more comfy around week 6
