I didn't let anyone over for a week and when they did com over they only stayed for less than an hour. You gotta put your foot down. It's your house. Don't invite them over.

It is your baby. You dont have to let them see her. I would lock myself in a room. If she wants to take care of a baby so bad tell her to go have another one sheesh. Your going have to put your foot down better yet your man needs to tell his mom to back off some. Just makes me glad I moved an hour away from mine

Hell no I would of locked the bedroom door and if anyone knocked I would just simply tell them I dont want anyone around the baby right now. If they get mad and tell your MIL oh well its your baby. Your husband should still stand up and say something to your mom about that. That's rude of her.

Smh her telling you to hurry because people want to see her is where I would draw the line. You dont tell someone to hurry and feed their 2 day old baby because people want to meet her. Why didn't your husband tell her stop inviting people over?

Yeah I hated nursing with anyone else in the room I felt awkward even if it was my own parents

@elysiansmama, unfortunately she doesn't listen. If I tell her I'm tired she says "go sleep then I'll take care of her" but no. I don't like that. I want to take care of my baby, but i want to rest while she is sleeping, not have visitors. I have stitches in my vagina for gods sake I want some privacy for a while

@mommysbabies, clearly not. It's so annoying. Any time I go to my room to nurse my MIL gets pissed off and doesn't like when I take her to another room. Sorry, but I love that special bonding time with my baby and I don't want her to be a part of it. She was also pissed that she didn't get to be in the delivery room. It always has to be about her

Sad to say this happens too often! Family members get caught up in all the cuteness but fail to acknowledge that mom is still recovering and needs rest and privacy with her baby! I'd recommend talking with her and let her know how you need time with your baby alone, to please respect that. You may have to tell her more than once, that's what happened to me
