We have a special #mombassadorchat today! Princess AKA @cubanese will answer any breastfeeding questions you have today. Just ask her on this thread and she'll try to help! Below are her top 12 breastfeeding tips

Princess began her career in the medical field in 2005. Working in pediatrics, women's health, mental health and rehabilitation centers for those with physical disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and more. She is not only a breastfeeding mom and awesome mombassador, but she's also a lactation consultant.

Top 12 Breastfeeding Tips

Tell your hospital that you plan to breastfeed.

Keep a lactation consultant's contact info on speed dial.

Don't take breastfeeding advice from anyone who hasn't breastfed.

Ask your doctor if he/she is a lactation consultant, as well as a doctor.

Don't stress!

Remember, breast milk is supply and demand.

No need to pump and dump.

Don't pump before 4-6wks unless absolutely necessary.

Your baby doesn't need to consume large amounts of milk.

Nursing at night is important.

Breastfed babies have lots of growth spurts.

Babies don't just nurse for food!

Here is a link that breaks down each of these tips in detail ссылка

Please ask your questions or add your tips below! And don't forget to follow @cubanese in the app and her blog! Thank you so much Princess for this help!

I've been EBF my daughter since she was born , she will be 6 months old on may 1st. I've tried 3 different pacifiers and tried to give her a bottle of breastmilk 3 times but with no success. It's been getting harder for me. I feel like as she's growing she's constantly hungry and now that she has two teeth it's getting painful. I have a double pump that I want to start using. I would like to try giving her bottles and a pacifier . I just need advice on when and how much i should pump a day, what bottles or pacifiers I should try , and also I am starting to introduce foods so how should feedings be at this age? When should she get bottles and when should I give her food and how much? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! @cubanese,

Hey. I have a question I've asked on other groups and haven't gotten any help. My son is 11 months now and has 5 teeth. He's not intentionally biting me but when I nurse him to sleep and he's sleepy or lazy he grinds his teeth and has rubbed me raw on my areola. I don't know what to do to keep this from happening. Like I said he doesn't bite me intentionally or when he's awake it's just when he's really tired or sleeping. I'm afraid to unlatch him too soon because I'm afraid to wake him.

With the son I was only about to breastfeed & pump for a month. Every time would breastfeed/pump I was get extremely dizzy, fatigue, lightheaded and nearly pass out. What could cause this? I am pregnant with my 2nd, I am due on May 3rd what could I do prevent this from happening again?

Nursing 8 months strong and it's going super well. My issue is she won't take anything but the breast. How do I get her to accept pumped milk from a bottle? Or do I just start a sippy cup at this age? Also how do I stop the nightly feedings? She'll wake up two or more times still at night and won't calm or go back to sleep without nursing. She's been 99% for weight since birth, so I'm not worried about her weight. I'm exhausted 🤕😴 any help would be great!

Hi there. Im just curious how much is average to be pumping out? Sometimes I will go 4-5 hours without nursing or pumping and i can get over 6 oz! Is this because I am waiting for too long? Also, is there an average amount of milk that momma's with 6 week olds have frozen? My hospital told me to pump and had me start pumping at the hospital. Is it bad that I started right away? Will this mess up my supply?

@cubanese my son has been diagnosed with jaundice. He has had his levels checked 3 times and on the third time his doctor said his levels were dropping. She has suggested that I stop breastfeeding for a couple of days and supplement with formula. She says it will help his levels drop faster. Is this true or is there something else I can do besides pumping and storing?

I'm currently pregnant with my third child. I nursed my first for 19 months and my second for 27 months. I got my nipples pierced a few years ago and took them out early in my pregnancy because they started to reject. In your experience how have old piercings effected breastfeeding.? I'm afraid about possible scar tissue preventing my milk from flowing out properly.

Been trying to get Madi to take a bottle for a couple months now (I think)...hubby tries every night and I go upstairs. She has only taken it a lil bit a few times. Had to have my mom feed her my milk w baby spoon Sat (she sucked it up) bc I didn't want her getting hungry/dehydrated while I was at work. She starts at a sitter tomorrow and I'm really dreading it...I don't want her to be sad or not get enough to eat. I'll give the sitter a spoon to use if she has to, but I'm sure she doesn't have time for that while watching other kids. (No other babies.) Any tips? I bought lasinoh momma bottles since she had taken it a couple times. (5th or 6th bottle choice.) Slow flow nipple, already told sitter about pace feeding.

She won't fall asleep unless she has the boob and if I try to leave her side in the middle of the night she'll wake up not long after and I have to feed her again or she just uses me as a pacifier (she won't take any pacifiers or bottles)

I'm really trying to figure out the overfeeding for my 2 month old. I do supplement because I returned to work but now I'm down to 4 hours a day so my mom (babysitter) feeds her while I'm at work. At 7 am I feed her off of my left breast and pump on my right at the same time. I usually pump 2 ounces. About 15 minutes or less. My mom arrives at 7:30 and by 8:30 has given her the 2 ounces I pumped. At 11 am she usually eats anywhere from 4-5 ounces and I pump then feed her when I get home at 12:30-1 pm off the breast for however long she wants to eat. Today mom gave her 6 ounces at one feeding!!! She seemed fine tho. She's still choking on her milk at times during sleep and it comes out her nose every once in awhile. And she spits up a lot. Not reflux a lot but I change her clothes quite often. Are we over feeding her??

I would like to be off formula supplements and back to EBF but when she eats off of me she's satisfied for maybe an hour. Pumped milk in a bottle @ 4 oz she's good for about 2-3 hours. And her little belly gurgles a lot. About every day, most of the day.

LOL thanks so much! One more thing, do those smoothies also help with your supply? My lung meds will be switched soon(I have a few lung problems)...so will those smoothies also help with my supply as well as nursing on demand just in case my meds mess with it? For some reason whenever they prescribe me an antibiotic i notice it tries to screw with my milk lol......trying to be on the safe side bcuz sometimes it takes even two weeks into me taking whatever they give me and me trying to pump and feed as much as i can for it to even regulate back to normal. @cubanese,

@cubanese, we tried pace feeding but it made him spit up most of what he ate. We do keep the bottle parallel to the floor so it doesn't just pour into his mouth, I always s put the nipple on his upper lip to allow him to latch on his own, we use the slow flow nipple, & I sit him up at about a 45° angle when I bottle feed him. So, we still do most of it. We take the breaks to burp but a lot of times he just starts crying & whining his head around until you give him more.

Thank you! I'm breastfeeding him on demand but also I won't go over 3 hours without feeding him. Whichever comes first.

Yes, he is having wet diapers. The first week he had a BM every diaper and then these last 3 days he hasn't had a BM. Is that normal with breast fed babies?

Also, when do you feel is a good time to introduce pacifiers?

My LO is 5months and never latched so I have exclusively breastfed this whole time. He has just been introduced to baby food/solids but I still pump the same amount of times each day. I've noticed that some days I can pump a good 5-6 oz of milk from each boob but every now and then or couple days it decreases to 4oz. and it's kind of a hassle since he takes more.😒 then after a day or so it may jump back to my normal supply.

Is there a cause in decrease of milk supply every other day as such? Someone said it may be a lack of fluids or not drinking enough water. Anything I can do about this

@cubanese, first , let me just say your amazing! And second, what are some things breastfeeding women can take for some extra energy. Im sure you understand breastfeeding can be exhausting sometimes and on some days more than the other! I have a sick infant right now and the struggle is real. She didn't sleep until 4am. I know getting those 3 meals a day in are important when you exclusively breastfeed. So how can I boost my energy a little more throughout the day? Also, you say breastfeeding at night is important. Does that mean you should nurse baby at least every 3 hours? I don't wake her up if she sleeps for more than the three. I let her get up on her own so I'm guessing it would be best to wake up every two hours and pump is that right? I'm asking this because it's different now that shes not a month old anymore! 💖

@cubanese, I'm sorry am I what feeding?

We don't make him take that much formula, he will cry or hit his mouth or stick out his tongue like he's still hungry. We've been on demand feeding. He's gaining weight but by no means is he getting chunky. I always nurse him before I give him a bottle because I like the bond of breastfeeding. Everyone keeps telling me "he's a growing boy, if he acts hungry feed him" so I am. Idk what else to do.

@cubanese my son was born via induction and eventual c-section at 39 weeks & he was 5 pounds 7 oz. when they took him out he didn't cry so they took him to the NICU for about 20-30 minutes to make sure he was breathing properly on his own. They were closely watching his blood sugars & checking his diapers for urine often. The day after he was born my doctor told me that I needed to supplement him because he may be getting dehydrated since he had yet to urinate & it had been 24 hours since he was born. Now he's 9 weeks old and we're still breastfeeding but every time he eats he nursed for maybe a half hour & then he eats about 4oz of formula. I typically get about 2oz of breast milk when I pump. My question is, is there a way to make him not get upset when my milk slows down after the initial let down? Or is it just inevitable since he's gotten used to the fullness that comes along with formula?

My son's pediatrician suggested starting solids at 4m my son doesn't seem to like anything other than my milk. I'm wondering if it's a phase or his way of telling me to wait on solids. I always nurse him beforehand so the food doesn't substitute, I just want to make sure he's ready for food when the time comes. Everything I give him he acts like it's the grossest thing on earth, only foods he's somewhat tolerated are bananas and squash though he still makes faces lol. @cubanese
