Hi, I am first time mom currently pregnant and plan to breastfeed I have kind of a silly question. Do I buy bottles that will connect to the breast pump or how does that work cause after a while of only boob I would like for daddy to get in on feeding process to ?
Dr browns are universal for pumps, i did the same thing you're planning!!
Most breast pumps will come with at least one or two bottles that connect directly to the pump. They are usually pretty small (like 5oz). You don't have to buy other bottles right away, but eventually you will probably want to get bigger ones because baby will eat more than 5oz at a time.
👏👏 @cubanese, When I did finally go back to work we went straight to sippy cups. Dad did other things like bath time and now solids. Its up to you what you end up doing but I wouldnt go near a pump unless you are going back to work or school at 6 weeks. Correct me if im wrong mommies. Most standard bottles connect to the pump and most pumps come with them. You can also buy bags that connect to the pump depending on what pump you have. I know its tempting to pump so you can get some rest, Daddy feels involved, and you can do other activities but its best to exclusively breast feed at least until your supply is established. Even if he did feed your baby or you want a nap you would need to wake up or stop what you are doing to pump anyhow to keep your body on schedule. Good luck.
